Taxonomy Originally described as a subspecies, ''Sceloporus torquatus mikeprestoni'',Hobart M. Smith and Ticul Alvarez 1974. Hobart Muir Smith, born Frederick William Stouffer (September 26, 1912 – March 4, 2013), was an Americans, American Herpetology, herpetologist.
