Saša Šućurović
Saša Šućurović ( sr-cyr, Саша Шућуровић; born 1968) is a Serbian politician. He was mayor of Novi Bečej, Vojvodina, from 2012 to 2016 and has served in the Assembly of Vojvodina since November 2016 as a member of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV). Private career Šućurović is an entrepreneur. Political career Liberal Democratic Party Šućurović was a prominent member of Serbia's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) for many years, appearing as a candidate on its electoral lists in the 2007, 2008, 2012, and 2014 Serbian parliamentary elections and the 2008 Vojvodina provincial election, although he did not receive a mandate on any of these occasions. In many countries, a mayor is the highest-ranking official in a Municipal corporation, municipal government such as that of a city or a town. In politics, the opposition comprises one or more political parties or other organized groups that are opposed to the government (or, in American English, the administration), party or group in political control of a city, region, state, country or other political body. The Social Democratic Party (, abbr. SDS) is a centre-left political party in Serbia. The party was founded and is headed by Boris Tadić, who was previously president of the Democratic Party and the former President of Serbia. Between June and October 2014, the name of the party was the New Democratic Party (, NDS). In May 2019, the party formed a union with Democratic Party and Together for Serbia. 2016 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 24 April 2016. Initially, the election were originally due to be held by March 2018, but on 17 January 2016 Prime Minister of Serbia, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić called for a snap election claiming Serbia "needs four more years of stability so that it is ready to Accession of Serbia to the European Union, join the European Union". The elections were held simultaneously with 2016 Vojvodina provincial election, provincial elections in Vojvodina and nationwide local elections. Voter turnout was 56%.
