Sanjay Prasad IAS
Sanjay Prasad (born 23 May 1971) is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, from the 1995 batch. Appointed as Principal secretary (India) in the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2022, Sanjay Prasad is reportedly very close to Chief minister Yogi Adityanath. The Yogi government has entrusted him with the crucial responsibilities of Principal Secretary Home and Information. Early life and education Sanjay Prasad was born on 23 May 1971 in Sitamarhi district, Bihar. He holds a Master of Arts degree. Sitamarhi is the headquarters of the Sitamarhi district in Tirhut Division, Bihar. The city was named in honour of Sītā, wife of Rāma, who was born in Sitamarhi according to Hindu legends.
