SC De Goa
Sporting Clube de Goa (simply known as Sporting Goa and abbreviated as SCG) is an Indian professional football club based in Panaji, Goa. The club competes in the I-League 2, the third tier of the Indian football league system and the Goa Football League. They previously competed in the I-League, then the top domestic flight. The club was built on the lines of Portuguese club Sporting CP and adopted a similar club crest. Sporting Clube de Goa won its first Goa Football League in 2006. Since then it has clinched the title in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2021. Sporting Goa is the only club to have won the Super Cup without winning the league or Federation Cup. GMC Athletic Stadium
The GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim is the first Sports complex, integrated athletic complex in Goa. It has been constructed according to the IAAF specifications and norms and has hosted the Athletics at the 2014 Lusofonia Games, athletic events of 2014 Lusofonia Games. The field has been used as the training ground for the FC Goa Reserves and Academy, FC Goa developmental squad. It was chosen as one of the three venues to host the 2020–21 Indian Super League season, 2020–21 of the Indian Super League. 2019–20 Goa Professional League
The 2019–20 Goa Professional League is the 22nd season of the Goa Professional League, the top football league in the Indian state of Goa, since its establishment 1996. The league season began on 1 October 2019. SESA Football Academy was promoted to the premier division and they replaced FC Bardez, who were relegated at the end of the previous campaign. The league matches were played at the Duler Stadium and Navelim Football Ground. Clube de Desportos Vasco da Gama (simply known as both Vasco Sports Club, and Vasco SC) is an Indian professional football club based in Vasco da Gama, Goa, part of the same named multi-sports club. Incorporated in 1951, the club is nicknamed "The Port Towners", and competes in the Goa Professional League. Vasco is the first Goan club run under public shareholding. Panaji (; , , )also known as Panjim, is the capital of the Indian state of Goa and the headquarters of North Goa district. Previously, it was the territorial capital of the former Portuguese India. 2016–17 I-League
The 2016–17 I-League was the 10th season of the I-League, the top Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 7 January 2017 and concluded on 30 April 2017. Aizawl won their first title on the final day after securing a draw against Shillong Lajong on 30 April 2017. Defending champions Bengaluru finished in the fourth place. Dempo had entered the league after being promoted from the I-League 2nd Division but withdrew from the league along with Salgaocar and Sporting Goa. Aizawl were reinstated into the league after being relegated while Churchill Brothers, Chennai City, and Minerva Punjab were granted direct-entry into the I-League.
