Formerly sponsored by Bloomberg Law and now owned by ''The Dispatch'', the site tracks cases before the Court from the certiorari stage through the Merit (law), merits stage. The site live blogs as the Court announces opinions and grants cases, and sometimes has information on the Court's actions published before either the Court or any other news source does. SCOTUSblog frequently hosts symposiums with leading experts on the cases before the Court. Tom Goldstein
Thomas Che Goldstein (born 1970) is an American lawyer. He is known for his advocacy before and blog about the Supreme Court of the United States. He was a founding partner of Goldstein and Howe (later Goldstein & Russell), a Washington, D.C., firm specializing in Supreme Court of the United States, Supreme Court litigation, and was, until the end of 2010, a partner at Akin Gump, where he was co-head of the litigation and Supreme Court practices. He retired from Goldstein & Russell in March 2023. ''The Dispatch'' is an American center-right subscription-based online magazine founded by Jonah Goldberg, Stephen F. Hayes, and Toby Stock. Several of ''The Dispatch'''s staff (including Hayes) are alumni of '' The Weekly Standard'', which is now defunct, and ''National Review''. ''The Dispatch'' acquired the law blog ''SCOTUSblog'' in 2025. History After ''The Weekly Standard'' ceased publication in December 2018, Hayes, Goldberg, and Stock were inspired to start a media company with the goal of "producing serious, factually grounded journalism for a conservative audience". Sonia Maria Sotomayor (, ; born June 25, 1954) is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. Lyle Denniston (born March 16, 1931) is an American journalist, professor, and author who has reported on the Supreme Court of the United States since 1958. He wrote for SCOTUSblog, an online blog featuring news and analysis of the Supreme Court, until June 2016, after previously having written for multiple national newspapers and legal periodicals. His commentary is also featured on the National Public Radio show ''Here and Now''. New York Law School (NYLS) is a private, American law school in the Tribeca neighborhood in Manhattan, New York City.
