Roberto Cosolini
Roberto Cosolini (born 14 May 1956) is an Italian politician who served as Mayor of Trieste from 2011 to 2016. Biography Cosolini began his career in the 1980s as provincial secretary, and then regional secretary, of the National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. In 2003, with the election of Riccardo Illy as President of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Cosolini is appointed Regional Councilor for Labor, Education, Universities and Research. After winning the centre-left primaries for the candidacy for the office of mayor of Trieste, Cosolini is elected mayor in May 2011. In 2016, Cosolini tries to achieve the reconfirmation, but he is defeated by his predecessor and centre-right candidate Roberto Dipiazza Roberto Dipiazza (born 1 February 1953) is an Italian entrepreneur and politician. Roberto Dipiazza (born 1 February 1953) is an Italian entrepreneur and politician. A member of the centre-right party Forza Italia, he has been mayor of Muggia between 1996 and 2001 and mayor of Trieste between 2001 and 2011 and again since 2016. Riccardo Illy
Riccardo Illy (born 24 September 1955) is an Italian businessman and former politician. Biography Riccardo Illy was born in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. His paternal grandfather, Francesco Illy, was of Hungarian origin. He's Waldensian. As a young man Illy worked as a skiing instructor at Piancavallo and a sailing instructor at Monfalcone. He married Rossana Bettini, food and wine journalist, at a young age. They have a daughter Daria who is now a Physical Education teacher and personal trainer. Illy started work in the family's coffee making firm illycaffè in 1977, which was founded by his grandfather in 1933. As the company's Business Director, reorganised its internal business structure as well as the structures of the other firms it controlled. He created a marketing department for the company which, up to then, did not have one. ''Il Piccolo'' is the main daily newspaper of Trieste, Italy. Its name derives from the paper's original ''small'' format. History and profile ''Il Piccolo'' was founded by Teodoro Mayer in 1881. He was also the owner and editor-in-chief of the paper. Mayer and other people who were instrumental in the establishment of the paper were right-wing pro-Italians.
