Rubel Hossain
Mohammad Rubel Hossain ( born 1 January 1990) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. Rubel made his international debut in January 2009 aged only 19. He has the highest bowling average of any pace bowler to have bowled at least 2,000 deliveries in Test cricket. He is a quick bowler with a slingy action similar to Lasith Malinga's. Hossain announced his retirement from Test cricket on 19 September 2022. Early and domestic career Hossain's first-class debut was for Chittagong Division in 2007, where he picked up one wicket for one hundred and thirty seven runs (1/137) against Khulna Division. After a string of good performances in the National Cricket League, he was selected to play for the Bangladesh Under-19 team, and soon after, the Bangladesh A team. Cricket was one of the 36 sports at 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, South Korea from 20 September to 3 October 2014. Both men's and women's tournaments were held in the event. Sylhet Strikers () is a professional cricket franchise based in Sylhet, Bangladesh, competing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The team made its debut in the inaugural 2012 Bangladesh Premier League. Initially owned by Sylhet Sports Limited under the leadership of former Bangladesh Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, the team’s ownership later passed to his son, Shahed Muhith, who became the chairman. Bangladeshi U-19 Cricket Team
The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team represents the nation of Bangladesh in cricket at Under-19 level. Known as the Young Tigers, the team has been playing youth official Test match since 2004, and has won the ACC Under-19 Cup in 2023, winning against the United Arab Emirates national under-19 cricket team by 195 runs in the final match. National Cricket League
The National Cricket League () is the oldest domestic first-class cricket competition in Bangladesh. It is contested by teams representing seven of the eight regional divisions of Bangladesh (there is no team from Mymensingh Division) as well as a team from the Dhaka metropolitan area.
