Rodrigo Antonio Pérez Albornoz (born 19 August 1973) is a former Chilean footballer who played as left back. His last professional club was Deportes Iquique. Club career Pérez began his football career at his professional hometown club O'Higgins, making his professional debut aged 19, being promoted to the first adult team by the coach Manuel Pellegrini in the 1993 season, then moving to Santiago Wanderers in 1997, after three successful seasons at Rancagua. He has spent the most time in Chile playing for Cobreloa, where he was capped in 137 matches and scored 15 goals. He also spent time with the Peruvian club Alianza Lima. International career He made his debut for the Chilean national squad in 1995. Coaching career He began his career as the coach of the team of (National Football Institute) and then he became the manager of Cobreloa in 2018 in the Primera B de Chile. Rancagua, Chile
Rancagua () is a city and commune in central Chile and part of the Rancagua conurbation. It is the capital of the Cachapoal Province and of the O'Higgins Region, located south of the national capital of Santiago. It was originally named Santa Cruz de Triana by Spanish colonists. Copa Chile
The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División. Since the season 2009, the winners obtained a direct Copa Sudamericana spot for the next season, however this was change starting from the 2015 edition; since then the winners obtains a direct Copa Libertadores spot for the next season. The 2006 Torneo Descentralizado (known as the Copa Cable Mágico for sponsorship reasons) was the ninetieth season of Peruvian football. A total of 12 teams competed in the tournament, with Sporting Cristal as the defending champion.
