Roberto González (racing Driver)
Roberto González Valdés (born March 31, 1976, in Mexico City) is a Mexican racing driver from Monterrey. He competed in Champ Car in the 2003 season and for all of 2004. In 2003, he made his debut in the race at St. Petersburg, Florida, St. Petersburg in Florida for Dale Coyne Racing failing to complete the race. His other appearance in 2003 was at home in Mexico City where he substituted for veteran Roberto Moreno scoring his 1st Champ Car points in 10th spot. He was given a full-time ride with KV Racing Technology, PKV Racing for the 2004 season complete with backing from the Mexican arm of Nextel Communications, Nextel. However, he had a disappointing year with a best result of 7th place in Cleveland highlighting a year where he only finished 15th in the points standings. He was not retained for the 2005 season. Rocketsports Racing
Rocketsports Racing was a motor racing team based in East Lansing, Michigan in the United States. Team history Rocketsports was founded in 1985 by racing driver Paul Gentilozzi to compete in the Trans-Am series. It competed in Trans-Am until 2004, when the championship was cancelled, and achieved 57 outright wins in 20 years. It has also raced in the IMSA sports car racing championship. Rocketsports joined Champ Car in 2003 with driver Alex Tagliani, who scored the team's only victory at Road America in 2004. In 2005 and 2006 the team fielded cars for pay drivers and frequently changed drivers. In 2007, Tagliani returned full-time and the team shared technical information with RuSPORT. This alliance was dubbed RSPORTS, and took a race win with RuSPORT's Justin Wilson. However, the alliance ended at the end of the season. HVM Racing
HVM Racing was an auto racing team owned by Keith Wiggins that competed in the IndyCar Series. It competed in the Champ Car World Series in 2007 as Minardi Team USA when it was co-owned by Paul Stoddart. It has a long history of changes of ownership, beginning as Bettenhausen Motorsports and including a previous incarnation as CTE-HVM Racing, co-owned by actor/comedian Cedric the Entertainer. Its 2007 driver lineup was Dan Clarke and former Formula One driver Robert Doornbos, who previously raced for Minardi F1. In the first race of the season, the 2007 Las Vegas Grand Prix, Robert Doornbos made the most successful debut since Nigel Mansell in 1993, finishing second on the podium. 2003 Champ Car Season
The 2003 Champ Car World Series, the twenty-fifth and final in the Championship Auto Racing Teams (CART) era of American open-wheel car racing, consisted of 18 races, beginning in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States on February 23 and concluding in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia on October 26. For sponsorship purposes, it was branded as Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford. The intended final event, scheduled to be held in Fontana, California on November 9 was canceled due to wildfires, one of which was known as the "Grand Prix Fire", burning in and around San Bernardino County. The Drivers' Champion was Paul Tracy. Rookie of the Year was Sébastien Bourdais. At the end of the season, the operations of a now bankrupt CART were assumed by Open-Wheel Racing Series, who continued to brand its top series as the Champ Car World Series. 2002 World Series By Nissan
The 2002 Telefónica World Series by Nissan was contested over 9 race weekends/18 rounds. In this one-make formula all drivers had to use Dallara chassis ( Dallara SN01) and Nissan engines ( Nissan VQ). 10 different teams and 30 different drivers competed. 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship
The 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship was the tenth season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, an auto racing series organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series was open to prototype and grand tourer-style racing cars divided into four categories. World Championship titles were awarded to the leading manufacturers and drivers in both the prototype and grand tourer divisions. It was the first season in which LMDh (Le Mans Daytona h) entries were allowed to compete alongside LMH (Le Mans Hypercar) entries on a race-by-race basis. The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (formerly the 1000 Kilometres of Spa-Francorchamps) is an endurance race for sports cars held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. History The Spa 24 Hours had been introduced in 1924, and other races followed. As on the Nürburgring, both a 24-hour race for touring cars and GTs is held, and an endurance race for sports cars and GTs. The 24 hour race counted towards the inaugural World Sports Car championship in 1953, the last time that race would be held until 1964, and the last time it was for sports cars for several decades. The 24 Hours of Daytona, also known as the Rolex 24 At Daytona for sponsorship reasons, is a 24-hour sports car racing, sports car Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance race held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
