Richie McCarthy
Richard McCarthy (born 11 October 1987) is an Irish hurler who plays for Limerick Senior Championship club Blackrock. He played for the Limerick senior hurling team for 10 years, during which time he usually lined out as a full-back. A defender who was noted for his swashbuckling style, McCarthy was considered a "Limerick hurling fans favourite". McCarthy began his hurling career at club level with Blackrock. After breaking onto the club's top adult team, he enjoyed his greatest success in 2010 when the club won the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship. Almost a decade later, McCarthy enjoyed further success when he won a Premier Intermediate Championship medal and promotion. At inter-county level, McCarthy was part of the Limerick minor team that were All-Ireland Championship runners-up in 2005. Kilfinane
Kilfinnane or Kilfinane () ( or , ) is a small market town in County Limerick, Ireland. The town's name comes from the Irish (church) and (Finnian), making its meaning "Church of Saint Finnian". Kilfinnane is located approximately 40 km southeast of Limerick, and approximately 70 km north-northwest of Cork. It had a population of 789 at the 2016 census. At an elevation of over , Kilfinnane is the highest town in County Limerick. 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship
The 2018 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship (SHC) was the 131st staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. It is the first tier of senior inter-county championship hurling. The competition began on 12 May 2018 and ended on 19 August 2018. The Munster Junior Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Hurling Junior Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the five champion junior clubs and one champion intermediate club in the province of Munster in Ireland. It is the most prestigious competition for junior clubs in Munster hurling. The Munster Junior Club Championship was introduced in 2001. The 2009–10 All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship was the seventh staging of the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The All-Ireland final was played on 13 February 2010 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Blackrock from Limerick and Naomh Colum Cille from Tyrone, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. Fermoy GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association based in the town of Fermoy, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in competitions organized by the Cork GAA county board and the Avondhu GAA divisional board. The club plays both Gaelic football and hurling. The Limerick Junior A Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Woodlands House Hotel County Junior A Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Limerick JAHC) is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition organised by Limerick GAA exclusively for junior hurling clubs in County Limerick. The GAA Interprovincial Championship () or Railway Cup (''Corn an Iarnróid'') is the name of two annual Gaelic football and hurling competitions held between the provinces of Ireland. The Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster GAA teams are composed of the best players from the counties in each province. The games are organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. The Railway Cup was a revival of the Railway Shield which ran from 1905 to 1907 (football) and from 1905 to 1908 (hurling).
