Record Store Day
Record Store Day is a semi-annual event established in 2008 to "celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store". Held on one Saturday (typically the third) every April and every Black Friday in November, the day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores around the world. A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event. The event originated in the United States and has expanded internationally, with official organizers in the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Europe, Japan, and Australia. Slayer
Slayer is an American thrash metal band from Huntington Park, California, formed in 1981 by guitarists Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King, drummer Dave Lombardo and bassist/vocalist Tom Araya. ''Tomorrow's Harvest'' is the fourth studio album by Scottish electronic music duo Boards of Canada, released on 4 June 2013 by Warp. The duo began composing and recording following the release of '' The Campfire Headphase'' in 2005 and the expansion of their studio at Hexagon Sun near the Pentland Hills. They continued recording intermittently until late 2012, when large parts of the album were recorded. Influenced by film soundtracks from the 1970s and 1980s, ''Tomorrow's Harvest'' features a more menacing and foreboding tone, with themes of isolation and decay. ''Tomorrow's Harvest'' was promoted with a cryptic marketing campaign that began on Record Store Day 2013, with the release of an unannounced non-album single that featured part of an unidentified code. It was created to be part of and promote an alternate reality game for their fourth studio album, ''Tomorrow's Harvest'' (2013). It was exclusively released as a limited-edition single-sided 12" vinyl record. While the release of the single coincided with 2013's Record Store Day, the record was hand-delivered to record stores by employees of Warp Records. While six copies of the single are confirmed to exist, only three have been actually found. Background After the release of '' The Campfire Headphase'' (2005) and ''Trans Canada Highway'' (2006), Eoin and Sandison "took some time out, and spent some time travelling". The Foo Fighters are an American Rock music, rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. The Beastie Boys were an American Hip-hop, hip hop and Rap rock, rap rock group formed in New York City in 1979. They were composed of Ad-Rock, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz (vocals, guitar), Adam Yauch, Adam "MCA" Yauch (vocals, bass), and Mike D, Michael "Mike D" Diamond (vocals, drums).
