New Order are an English Rock music, rock band formed in Salford in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris (musician), Stephen Morris. Ron Asheton
Ronald Franklin Asheton (July 17, 1948 – Wiktionary:circa, c. January 6, 2009) was an American musician, best known as the guitarist, bassist, and co-songwriter for the rock band the Stooges. He formed the band along with Iggy Pop and his brother, drummer Scott Asheton, and bassist Dave Alexander (musician), Dave Alexander in 1967. The band is regarded as the seminal proto-punk band and a major influence on the punk rock genre with the albums ''The Stooges (album), The Stooges'' (1969), ''Fun House (The Stooges album), Fun House'' (1970) and ''Raw Power'' (1973). Thomas Louis Chapman (born 15 May 1972) is a French-British musician, producer and songwriter, best known as being the bass guitarist of English rock band New Order. He is also one of the founding members of Anglo-American group ShadowParty and more recently in 2020, Sea Fever. Bad Lieutenant Chapman joined English alternative rock band Bad Lieutenant, formed by Bernard Sumner during a break from New Order, in 2009 as bass player. Phil Cunningham (rock Musician)
Philip Cunningham (born 7 December 1974) is an English guitarist who is a member of the bands Marion, New Order, Bad Lieutenant, ShadowParty and, more recently in 2020, Sea Fever. Marion Cunningham is a member of the Britpop group Marion, which formed in Macclesfield in 1993. Along with singer Jaime Harding and fellow guitarist Tony Grantham, Cunningham has writing credits for all of the band's songs. After Marion's second album, '' The Program'' (recorded with Johnny Marr), frictions within the band began to take their toll; as a result, after heading to America for a fresh start, the band went their separate ways in 1999. Peter Hook And The Light
Peter Hook & the Light are an English post-punk band, formed in May 2010 by bassist and vocalist Peter Hook, formerly of the influential post-punk bands Joy Division and New Order. The band also features Hook's son Jack Bates (bass), as well as Andy Poole (keyboards) and Paul Kehoe (drums), who both played with Hook as part of Monaco, one of Hook's previous groups. From the first gigs in May 2010, Nat Wason (formerly of Haven) was the group's guitarist, however in July 2013 he was replaced by David Potts, another former member of Monaco. Freebass were an English rock supergroup consisting of, originally, three bassists - Andy Rourke (formerly of The Smiths), Peter Hook (formerly of Joy Division & New Order) and Gary "Mani" Mounfield (of The Stone Roses and Primal Scream) - and singer Gary Briggs (formerly of Haven). Monaco (band)
Monaco are an English rock band, originally formed in 1995 as a side project of New Order bassist Peter Hook, together with David Potts, the only remaining member of Hook's previous New Order side project, Revenge. The group is best known for the 1997 single " What Do You Want from Me?" and the album from which it was taken, '' Music for Pleasure'', which sold over half a million copies. Hook, Potts and Kehoe currently perform together in Peter Hook and the Light. In July 2019, Hook announced that the band were to return, performing a new Monaco track, "Higher, Higher, Higher Love" during Peter Hook and the Light's 'Joy Division Orchestrated' show at London's Royal Albert Hall. The Other Two (duo)
The Other Two are an English dance band consisting of husband-and-wife Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert, who are both from New Order. The band name refers to the fact that the other New Order members, Bernard Sumner and Peter Hook, had already embarked on side projects by the time the first the Other Two record was released. Their debut single "Tasty Fish" was released in 1991 and peaked at No. 41 on the UK Singles Chart. The Other Two have released two albums, '' The Other Two & You'' (1993) and '' Super Highways'' (1999). Revenge (UK Band)
Revenge was a band formed by New Order (band), New Order bassist Peter Hook (vocals, bass, keyboards) and Lavolta Lakota and Rawhead singer Davyth Hicks (aka Dave Hicks) on guitar and vocals, together with Chris Jones (keyboards). Revenge formed during New Order's hiatus in 1989-1990 and played their final gigs in January 1993. After their industrial rock/house music hybrid album ''One True Passion'' was written and recorded, the band was joined on stage by David Potts (bass and guitar) and Ashley Taylor on drums. The band toured the first album worldwide playing gigs in Europe, North and South America and Japan in 1991. It was after the Japan tour that Hicks decided to leave, quoting "musical differences", but more with the feeling of frustration over the direction of Revenge and his own desire to return to being lead singer.
