Rafał Karczmarz (born 25 February 1999) is an international speedway rider from Poland. Speedway career Karczmarz came to prominence in 2016 and 2017 when he was part of the Polish team that won the Team Speedway Junior European Championship. He then went on to win the 2017 World U23 Team Championship. The following year, in 2018, he repeated the achievement. Polonia Piła is a Polish motorcycle speedway team based in Piła who currently race in the Polish Speedway Second League (2. Liga). They have won the Team Speedway Polish Championship once in 1999. History 1957 to 1968 Polonia Piła was founded in 1945 as a multi-sports club. The speedway section was founded in 1950. It started competing in the Team Speedway Polish Championship as Polonia Piła in 1957. Stal Rzeszów is a Polish motorcycle speedway club. The team currently competes in the Polish Speedway Second League (2. Liga) and have won the Team Speedway Polish Championship twice. Vargarna () is a Swedish motorcycle speedway team based in Norrköping, Sweden, representing SMK Östgöta. The team race at Norrköping Motorstadion. They ride in the Elitserien and are six times champions of Sweden. The 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 14th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 18 August, 2018 at the Outrup Stadium in Outrup, Denmark. Team Speedway Under-21 World Championship
The Team Speedway Under-21 World Championship is a speedway competition to determine the World Championship for national Under-21 teams (the sport's equivalent of the Under-21 World Cup in football). As of 2022, the event has been known as the Speedway of Nations 2, the Under-21 division of the Speedway of Nations. The first edition of the competition was in 2005 prior to its incorporation with the Speedway of Nations. Poland has dominated the competition winning the title record 17 times. Motorcycle Speedway
Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Competitors use this surface to slide their machines sideways, powersliding or broadsiding into the bends. On the straight sections of the track, the motorcycles reach speeds of up to . Team Speedway Junior European Championship
The European Under-23 Team Speedway Championship, formerly known as the ''Team Speedway Junior European Championship'' is an annual motorcycle speedway event. Inaugurated as a European Under-19 competition, the competition age limits have twice been amended. Since 2021, the event has been staged as the European Under-23 Team Championship. The inaugural 2008 edition was staged at the Florian Kapała Stadium in Rawicz, Poland, and won by the Sweden national under-19 speedway team, Swedish team. The next two editions were won by the Poland national under-19 speedway team.
