Rafael Puente del Río or Rafael Puente Jr. (born 31 January 1979) is a Mexican former actor, professional footballer, and manager. Career Born to soccer columnist and former Mexico national team goalkeeper Rafael Puente, Puente Jr. began playing football as a striker with Mexican Primera División side Atlante F.C., making his professional debut in 2003. He transferred to Club Necaxa in 2004. Then on May 22, 2006, he debuted as an actor in telenovelas in '' Codigo Postal'' as Hector Garza. He is now a sports commentator. He was appointed the chief operating officer for Guadalajara in May 2014. He was let go in October 2014 by newly appointed chairman Néstor de la Torre. After being fired from Guadalajara, Puente Jr. joined his father as an analyst and commentator for ESPN Deportes in the United States and also for ESPN Mexico. The 2016–17 Ascenso MX season is a two-part competition: Apertura 2016 began on 15 July 2016 and Clausura 2017. Ascenso MX is the second-tier football league of Mexico. All Ascenso MX teams except UAEM, U. de C., Tampico Madero, Correcaminos, Zacatepec and Sonora, will participate in Copa MX. The fixtures were announced on 9 June 2016. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX, also known as Ascenso BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, was a professional association football league in Mexico and the second level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Primera División A de México (1994–2009) and also as Liga de Ascenso (2009–2012). The champions of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top level), and the bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (third level). In 2012, the league rebranded its name and competition format as Ascenso MX, the major changes (clubs do not need a FMF certification to be promoted and that the competition no longer used group stages). José Guadalupe Cruz Núñez (born Wednesday 22 November 1967) is a Mexican former professional footballer and manager. He coached Atlante during the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Playing career As a player, Cruz was a member of the Atlante side that won the 1993 Mexican championship. Miguel Herrera
Miguel Ernesto Herrera Aguirre (born 18 March 1968), popularly referred to by his nickname "Piojo" (Spanish for "louse"), is a Mexican professional football manager and former player. He is the current manager of the Costa Rica national team. A former defender, Herrera began his career playing with second division side Deportivo Neza in 1985, then transferring to Tecos UAG in 1987, and making his debut in the Primera División in 1988. After a brief period with Santos Laguna, in 1989 Herrera transferred to Atlante and went on to play for the club on three occasions, winning his only league championship as a player during the 1992–93 season.
