RCD Español Femenino
RCD Espanyol Femení (Real Club Deportivo Español) is the women's football section of RCD Espanyol and was founded in 1970. History RCD Espanyol was one of the pioneering teams in women's football in Spain, playing its first match as early as 1970. In 1971 they were one of the four major Catalan teams to take part in the Catalan Pernod Cup, playing to over 40,000 at Sarrià Stadium and 30,000 at the Camp Nou; Espanyol lifted the cup by defeating rivals Barcelona in the final. By 1979 Espanyol had won the (Catalan) league six times and the cup twice. The team's first national success came in 1989, when they first reached the national cup's final, losing it against Añorga. Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque
The Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque is the training ground of the La Liga, Primera Division club RCD Espanyol and home of RCD Espanyol B and RCD Espanyol Femenino. Located in Sant Adrià de Besòs, it was opened in 2001. The 1989–90 Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino was the second season of the Spanish women's football top tier. Atlético Villa de Madrid won their first title ever. The season did not use a regular relegation system. With the expansion of the league, all teams entering for the 1990–91 season were placed into a group stage. The eight best teams from this preliminary round, regardless of placement in the 1989–90 season (or non-placement in the case of new entrants), went on to play in the 1990–91 División de Honor, recognised as the top tier. 1989 Copa De La Reina De Fútbol
The 1989 Copa de S.M. La Reina de Fútbol was the sixth edition of the Spanish women's football competition previously known as Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol Femenino and the first one under this name. Due to the launching of a national league ( Liga Nacional) in this season the competition lost its status as a national championship to become the country's national cup. Ten teams took part in the competition, which took place from 14 May to 25 June 1989. Liga Nacional runner-up Parque Alcobendas won the competition by beating Añorga KKE 4–2 in the final, which was held in Logroño's Las Gaunas just before the 1988–89 Copa del Rey Juvenil's final. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (; RFEF) is the governing body of football in Spain. Founded on 29 September 1913, it is based in La Ciudad del Fútbol of Las Rozas, a municipality near Madrid.
