The 1988–89 Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino was the inaugural edition of Spain's women's football premier league. The competition was contested by nine clubs, and took place from 4 December 1988 to 30 April 1989. Peña Barcelonista Barcilona became the first league champion with a one-point margin over runner-up Parque Alcobendas.The League spoke in Catalan.

Joel Bernal Galicia (born December 6, 1965) is a Mexican retired ''Luchador'', or professional wrestler, better known under the ring name Olímpico. Olímpico is sometimes Anglicised as "Olympico", and means "Olympian" in Spanish. From his debut in 1992 until late 2008 Olímpico worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL); since then he has worked for promotions including Perros del Mal, International Wrestling Revolution Group (IWRG), World Wrestling Association (WWA) and other promotions on the Mexican independent circuit before returning to CMLL in mid-2010 as part of ''Los Invasores''. Sabadell () is a city and municipality in Catalonia, Spain. It is in the south of the ''comarca'' of Vallès Occidental, where it is one of the two capitals, the other being Terrassa. CE Sabadell (women)
CE Sabadell (femení) is the women's football team of CE Sabadell. It is the women's section of CE Sabadell. History CE Sabadell was one of the founding members of the Spanish league in 1988. Fifteen years later they won their first national title, the 2003 Copa de la Reina. The following season Sabadell were the runners-up in the league, and again reached the Copa's final, which this time they lost to Levante UD in the extra time. However, this golden era was short-lived and the team withdrew from the competition in 2005 after collapsing financially. For the 2013-14 season, CE Sabadell will plays in Catalonia's Preferent category (T3).

Alcobendas () is a municipality of Spain located in the Community of Madrid. It forms an urban continuum with the neighbouring municipality of San Sebastián de los Reyes. The 1989–90 Liga Nacional de Fútbol Femenino was the second season of the Spanish women's football top tier. Atlético Villa de Madrid won their first title ever. The season did not use a regular relegation system. With the expansion of the league, all teams entering for the 1990–91 season were placed into a group stage. The eight best teams from this preliminary round, regardless of placement in the 1989–90 season (or non-placement in the case of new entrants), went on to play in the 1990–91 División de Honor, recognised as the top tier.
