Queen Street Bus Terminal
This is a list of bus interchanges or terminals that are part of Singapore's bus system (not including bus stops). Bus terminals and interchanges serve as important nodes in the transport system as bus services start and end at these stations. Over time, there are several bus stations that have been shut down due to geographical retention or the introduction of new town centres, or creation of consolidated transportation hubs. The list of former bus stations are found here. Overview In the 1970s with the formation of Singapore Bus Service (SBS), the terminals of private companies were inherited by SBS. Many of these terminals were makeshift constructions without adequate facilities. The SBS embarked on a terminal improvement programme to build facilities such as more parking space, timekeeper's booths, rest areas for bus crew members, proper platforms with adequate shelter, toilets and food facilities. Bukit Batok
Bukit Batok ( ), often abbreviated as Bt Batok, is a planning area and matured residential town located along the eastern boundary of the West Region of Singapore. Bukit Batok statistically ranks in as the 25th largest, the 10th most populous and the 9th most densely populated planning area in Singapore. It is bordered by six other planning areas - Choa Chu Kang to the north, northeast and northwest, Bukit Panjang to the northeast and east, Clementi to the south, Bukit Timah to the southeast, Jurong East to the southwest and Tengah to the west. Bukit Batok largely sits on Gombak norite, a geological formation that is found in high concentrations within the planning area itself, as well as in the western parts of neighbouring Cashew. HarbourFront Bus Interchange
HarbourFront Bus Interchange is located within HarbourFront along Seah Im Road off Telok Blangah Road in Bukit Merah planning area, Singapore. The interchange serves the nearby residential estates of Telok Blangah and Bukit Purmei and also the HarbourFront commercial district, including HarbourFront Centre and VivoCity. Eunos MRT Station
Eunos MRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the East–West line in Geylang, Singapore. Operated by SMRT Trains, the station primarily serves the Eunos subzone of Geylang as well as the Eunos Bus Interchange. Plans for the station were first outlined in May 1982, and its construction was announced in October 1983 as part of Phase II of the MRT system. The contract for the station was awarded to a joint venture between Okumura Corporation and Oh Teck Thye. During construction, the joint venture was terminated when Oh Teck Thye was put under receivership, with Okumura taking over the project. The station opened on 4 November 1989. Platform screen doors were introduced in 2011, along with high volume low speed fans in 2013. The design of the station's roof took inspiration from traditional Minangkabau architecture. Geylang
Geylang () is a planning area and township located on the eastern fringe of the Central Region of Singapore, bordering Hougang and Toa Payoh in the north, Marine Parade in the south, Bedok in the east, and Kallang in the west. Geylang is previously known as a red-light district, particularly the areas along Geylang Road. Today only 3-4 units remain for brothels and street walkers are hard to come by. Geylang is also where one of Singapore's oldest Malay settlements, Geylang Serai, is located. During Ramadan, the neighbourhood is famous for its popular and iconic Ramadan lights and bazaars. Eunos Bus Interchange
Eunos Bus Interchange is a bus interchange located in Geylang East, Singapore. It is located and built beside Eunos MRT station and is surrounded by Eunos Road 2, Eunos Crescent and Sims Avenue. The interchange is designed with traditional Malay roof structure and shape, but using modern materials such as steel beams, similar to that of the Eunos MRT station. Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT Station
Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT station is an elevated Mass Rapid Transit (Singapore), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and Light Rail Transit (Singapore), Light Rail Transit (LRT) interchange station in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore. Serving the North South MRT line, North South line (NSL) and the Bukit Panjang LRT line (BPLRT), the station is located near the Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange and Lot One, Lot One shopping centre. Other surrounding landmarks include Keat Hong Community Club and Choa Chu Kang Park. First announced as Bukit Panjang, the station was built as part of Phase II of the initial MRT system and was completed in March 1990. SMRT Buses
SMRT Buses is the second largest bus operator in Singapore. A subsidiary of SMRT Corporation, it traded as Trans Island Bus Services until 10 May 2004. History Trans-Island Bus Services (1983–2004) In April 1981, Communications & Labour Minister Ong Teng Cheong announced the government would grant a license to an operator that was willing to compete with Singapore Bus Service (SBS), that had operated all services in Singapore since 1973, with the aim of improving service levels. In January 1982, City Shuttle Service operator Singapore Shuttle Bus (SSB) lodged applications with the Ministry of Communications to establish a second bus operator and the Registry Of Vehicles for four bus depots. Choa Chu Kang (), alternatively spelled Chua Chu Kang and often abbreviated as CCK, is a planning area and residential town located at the northwestern point of the West Region of Singapore. Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange is a bus interchange which mainly serves the residential neighbourhood of Choa Chu Kang in the West Region of Singapore.
