Kristaq Dhamo
Kristaq Dhamo (20 April 1933 – 14 August 2022) was an Albanian film director. In 1979 he was awarded the title of " Merited Artist" and in 1987 he was honored with the title of People's Artist of Albania medal. At the 11th Albanian Film Festival in 2000, he was honored with the Career Award. One of his famous quotes was: “A society with a film industry is a society that can develop.” (“Një shoqëri me industri filmi, është një shoqëri që mund të zhvillohet”.) He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinematography in Budapest, Hungary. After his studies, he began working at the Film Studio-"Shqipëria e Re". His first directed movie at the age of 25 was Tana, which is known as the 1st Albanian feature film, produced by Shqipëria Film Studios (later known as Kinostudio "Shqipëria e Re") and premiered on 17 August 17 1958. Ndrek Luca (3 September 1927 – 13 January 1993) was an Albanian actor, who became a popular icon through his starring roles in films which were produced during Kinostudio Shqipëria e Re, especially in leading roles of protagonists and antagonists in drama and war movies. Life and career Luca was born in Dukagjin on 3 September 1927. He appeared in many films between 1963 and 1991. His family moved to Shkodra when he was young, where he finished school. After the liberation of the country, Ndreka went to study at the Aviation Academy in Belgrade (Yugoslavia). Although he continued his military education, he had a great passion for theater and opera. Tinka Kurti ( Thani; born 17 December 1932) is an Albanian actress. Her body of work, spanning 60 years, includes more than 50 feature movies and 150 theatre plays has been awarded her with the People's Artist of Albania medal. Biography Tinka was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (then part of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia) to an Albanian father and Hungarian mother. She was the oldest of four children. At a young age her family returned to the city of Shkodra in northern part of Albania. It is in Shkodra where she would spend most of her life and join the theatre at a young age. In 1947 she was expelled from the Liceu Artistik (School of Arts) in Tirana and was never able to graduate. However, this did not stop her from pursuing her acting career.
