Peter Barry (poet)
Peter Thomas Barry FEA, FLSW (born 1947) is a British writer and academic. Background Peter Barry was born and raised in Liverpool and educated in Catholic grammar schools and at Upholland College in Lancashire. He studied English at King's College, London (1967–70) and American Studies (part-time) at London University's Institute of United States Studies (1970–72), where he was taught by Howell Daniels and Eric Mottram. He published a reminiscence of his London years in Robert Hampson and Ken Edwards (eds), ''Clasp: late modernist poetry in London in the 1970s''. His two main academic appointments were at LSU College of Higher Education, Southampton (later Southampton University New College), as Lecturer, then Senior Lecturer in English (1980–95), and at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth (now Aberystwyth University). Eric Mottram
Eric Mottram (29 December 1924 – 16 January 1995) was a British teacher, critic, editor and poet who was one of the central figures in the British Poetry Revival. Early life and education Mottram was born in London and educated at Purley Grammar School, Croydon, and Blackpool Grammar School, Lancashire. In 1943, he was awarded a scholarship to Pembroke College, Cambridge, but opted to serve in the Royal Navy instead, only taking up the scholarship in 1947. He graduated with honours in 1950, obtaining a first in both parts of the English Literature, Life and Thought tripos (Double First). M.A. in 1951. Ken Edwards (born in Gibraltar, 1950) is a poet, editor, writer and musician who has lived in England since 1968. He is associated with The British Poetry Revival. Edwards was educated at King's College, London, and at Goldsmiths'. Robert Gavin Hampson FEA FRSA (born 1948) is a British poet and academic. Hampson was born and raised in Liverpool, studied in London and Toronto and settled in London. He is currently Research Fellow at the Institute for English Studies, University of London and Emeritus Professor at Royal Holloway. He was also Visiting Professor at the University of Northumbria (2018-21). He is a member of the Poetics Research Centre and the Centre for GeoHumanities at Royal Holloway. Robert Sheppard is British poet and critic. He is at the forefront of the movement sometimes called "linguistically innovative poetry". xford Anthology of British and Irish Poetry/ref> Life Robert Sheppard was born in 1955 and was educated at the University of East Anglia (BA; MA; PhD). In 1996 he moved from London to Liverpool to teach at Edge Hill University as Professor of Poetry and Poetics and Programme Leader of the MA in Creative Writing.
