The 1997–98 Primera División de Fútbol Profesional season is the 46th tournament of El Salvador's Primera División since its establishment of the National League system in 1948. . The tournament began November 1997 and ended on May 31, 1998. Luis Angel Firpo won the championship game against FAS 2–0. Carlos Daniel Jurado Román (11 June 1947 – 8 December 2023) was a Uruguayan association football, football player and manager. Playing career Carlos Jurado began playing in the Club Paysandú Bella Vista, Paysandú, the team of the Paysandú, city where he grew up. Later he started in C.A. Saúl Molina
Saúl Victorino Molina (born 14 March 1938) is a retired Salvadoran professional footballer who later became a coach in El Salvador and Costa Rica. Club career Molina started his career at Dragón while at the same time studying to become a teacher. He then spent too much time training with the national team that Dragón let him go and he joined Second Division side Águila in 1958. He took part in their promotion to the Primera División de Fútbol de El Salvador and formed a dangerous frontline partnership with players like Juan Francisco Barraza and Juan Antonio Merlos. Sonsonate Department
Sonsonate () is a department of El Salvador in the western part of the country. The capital is Sonsonate. The department has an area of 1,226 km². Created on June 12, 1824, the El Salvador National Parliament decided on January 29, 1859, to separate the cities of Apaneca, San Pedro Puxtla, Guaymango, and Jujutla from the department and transfer these cities to the Santa Ana Department. Sonsonate was the second capital of the Federal Republic of Central America in 1834. Sonsonate
Sonsonate () is a city and district of El Salvador, of which it is also its municipal seat. It has an estimated population of 71,980 inhabitants for the year 2020. Sonsonate is the second most important city in western El Salvador. The town was founded under the name of "Villa del Espíritu Santo" on vacant lots near the town of los Izalcos in 1552.
