Plazuela Hidalgo, Mazatlán
The Plazuela Hidalgo or also known as Plazuela de los Leones is a public park in Mazatlán. It is located at the crossroads of the streets Calle Ángel Flores, Calle Compañía, Calle Niños Héroes and Calle Campana. It is one of the oldest parks in the city. History Its establishment dates back to 1835. The old port market was originally located in its place. The plaza was owned by Juan Nepomuceno Machado, who was also the owner of Plazuela Machado. Mazatlán
Mazatlán () is a city in the Mexican list of states of Mexico, state of Sinaloa. The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding , known as the Mazatlán Municipality. It is located on the Pacific Ocean, Pacific coast across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula. is a Nahuatl word for 'place of deer'. Juan Nepomuceno Machado
Juan Nepomuceno Machado is considered to be the father of the Mexican community of Mazatlan. He was a merchant from the Philippines who traded in fabric, pearls and silver. He settled on the coast of Sinaloa in 1829 where there were fishing villages and established a business financing pearl divers. He expanded into financing the reopening of mines in two towns Concordia, Sinaloa Concordia is a city and its surrounding municipality in the Mexican state of Sinaloa. The town is noted for manufacture of artesinal wooden furniture, symbolized by the giant chair in the town plaza. Plazuela Machado
The Plazuela Machado is a public park in the historic centre of Mazatlán, Mexico. It is one of the oldest parks in the city. The plaza is the first urban space that was designed as a recreational area in Mazatlán. History It was built in 1837 by Juan Nepomuceno Machado, a merchant of fabrics, silver and pearls. He would later donate the land to the city under the condition that it be used to establish a public plaza. On July 12, 1852, Francisco de la Vega, then governor of Sinaloa, marched to the limits of the city with 250 soldiers, two cannons and weapons and prepared to take command of Mazatlán, but it was too much hatred what this governor had provoked among the Mazatlecos who, despite only having 60 men, the citizens joined the battle that took place on the land that is currently Plazuela Machado and its surroundings. Plazuela República
The Plazuela República (Plaza Revolución) is a public park in Mazatlán, Mexico. It sits next to the municipal palace and in front of the Cathedral. History Originally it was the main square of the port. It was the home of the municipal market from 1865 to 1900. The Pino Suaréz Market later replaced it. The square was built in 1870 on an esplanade surrounded by commercial posts. In 1909, the German Melchers family donated a kiosk placed in the center. Its style is French with a Gothic tendency to balance the Cathedral. The facade hosts a plaque with the name "Plaza Revolución", referring to the plaza's reconstruction from 1945 to 1947.
