Plazuela República
The Plazuela República (Plaza Revolución) is a public park in Mazatlán, Mexico. It sits next to the municipal palace and in front of the Cathedral. History Originally it was the main square of the port. It was the home of the municipal market from 1865 to 1900. The Pino Suaréz Market later replaced it. The square was built in 1870 on an esplanade surrounded by commercial posts. In 1909, the German Melchers family donated a kiosk placed in the center. Its style is French with a Gothic tendency to balance the Cathedral. The facade hosts a plaque with the name "Plaza Revolución", referring to the plaza's reconstruction from 1945 to 1947. The base was used as a cafeteria from 1946, although it no longer provides service. Mazatlán
Mazatlán () is a city in the Mexican list of states of Mexico, state of Sinaloa. The city serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding , known as the Mazatlán Municipality. It is located on the Pacific Ocean, Pacific coast across from the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula. is a Nahuatl word for 'place of deer'. Basilica Cathedral Of Mazatlán
The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception (), also Mazatlán Cathedral, is the main religious building in the city of Mazatlán, in Baroque-Revival style of Sinaloa, Mexico, and home of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mazatlán. It is located in the historical center. Work on the temple began in 1856 by order of then Bishop Pedro Loza and Pardavé. Later, parish priest Miguel Lacarra took over the work and it was completed 1899. The temple-like basilica was consecrated 12 December 1941. It consists of basilical plant, with three naves, which have the same height. It has an octagonal dome with lantern, crowned by an iron cross. The towers are of two bodies and present shots in the form of truncated prisms, which are crowned by a cross. Mercado Pino Suárez
The Mercado Pino Suárez (officially known as Mercado Municipal José María Pino Suárez) is a municipal marketplace, market in Mazatlán. During the first half of the 20th century, it became the commercial hub of the port. History In 1895, the construction of the market was ordered; the markets that existed at that time operated outdoors and in unhealthy conditions. The market was designed by Alejandro Loubet Guzmán and took 5 years to build. It was founded on May 5, 1899, with the name of Mercado Manuel Romero Rubio, and was inaugurated by the then governor of the state Guillermo Cañedo. It opened its doors to the public on February 5, 1900. On February 14, 1915, its name was changed to Mercado Pino Suárez in honor of the vice president of Mexico José María Pino Suárez, who was assassinated a year after visiting Mazatlán in 1913.
