Planina, Ajdovščina
Planina () is a village in the hills south of the Vipava Valley on the border with the Karst Plateau in the Municipality of Ajdovščina in the traditional Inner Carniola region of Slovenia. It is now generally regarded as part of the Slovenian Littoral. It is made up of smaller clusters of the hamlets of Štrancarji, Marci, Dolenja Vas (), Brithi, Gorenja Vas (), and Koboli. The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Cantius and belongs to the Koper Diocese. The national flag of Slovenia () features three equal horizontal bands of white (top), blue, and red, with the coat of arms of Slovenia located in the upper hoist side of the flag centred in the white and blue bands. Karst Plateau
The Karst Plateau or the Karst region (, ), also locally called Karst, is a karst plateau region extending across the border of southwestern Slovenia and northeastern Italy. It lies between the Vipava Valley, the low hills surrounding the valley, the westernmost part of the Brkini Hills, northern Istria, and the Gulf of Trieste. The western edge of the plateau also marks the traditional ethnic border between Italians and Slovenes. The region gave its name to karst topography. For this reason, it is also referred to as the ''Classical Karst''. Koper
Koper (; ) is the List of cities and towns in Slovenia, fifth-largest city in Slovenia. Cantius, Cantianius, And Cantianella
Cantius, Cantianus, and Cantianilla (died 31 May 304) were Roman Christians who are venerated as saints and martyrs by the Eastern Orthodox Church and Roman Catholic Church. Their feast day is commemorated on 31 May. Narrative A late legend states that the three were orphaned siblings, members of a noble Roman family, the Anicii, and related to the Emperor Carinus. The Slovene Littoral, or simply Littoral (, ; ; ), is one of the traditional regions of Slovenia. The littoral in its name – for a coastal-adjacent area – recalls the former Austrian Littoral (''Avstrijsko Primorje''), the Habsburg possessions on the upper Adriatic coast, of which the Slovene Littoral was part. The Vipava Valley (; , , ) is a valley in the Slovenian Littoral, roughly between the village of Podnanos to the east and the border with Italy to the west. The main towns are Ajdovščina and Vipava.
