Pirapó
Pirapó is a municipality of the western part of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The population is 2,254 (2020 est.) in an area of 295.01 km2. The town is situated by the Ijuí River, close to its confluence with the Uruguay River, which forms the border with Argentina. It is located 563 km west of the state capital of Porto Alegre and northeast of Alegrete. Like many towns in the state which were first settled by German-speaking Europeans, the German language is still present in daily family and community life, if not as much in the public sphere since World War II; the regional German dialect is called Riograndenser Hunsrückisch, as it is a Brazilian variant of the dialect spoken in the Hunsrück region of southwest Germany. In 2012 the state chamber of deputies voted unanimously in favor of recognizing this Germanic dialect an official historical culture good to be preserved. Garabí Dam
The Garabí Dam (), is a planned dam and generating station on the Uruguay River between Argentina and Brazil. Part of the Garabí-Panambi Hydroelectric Complex. There is some controversy over the environmental impact on the fast-flowing river. Location The dam would be built in the Corrientes provinces of Argentina and the Garruchos municipality of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Hunsrück
The Hunsrück () is a long, triangular, pronounced mountain range, upland in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is bounded by the valleys of the Moselle (river), Moselle-Saar (north-to-west), the Nahe (south), and the Rhine (east). It is continued by the Taunus mountains, past the Rhine and by the Eifel past the Moselle. To the south of the Nahe is a lower, hilly country forming the near bulk of the Palatinate (region), Palatinate region and all of the, smaller, Saarland. Below its north-east corner is Koblenz. As the Hunsrück proceeds east it acquires north-south width and three notable gaps in its southern ridges.
