Princess Phương Liên of Vietnam (born 3 November 1939 in Đà Lạt) is a daughter of Bảo Đại, the last emperor of Vietnam, and his first wife, Empress Nam Phương. Biography Her father abdicated as emperor in 1945. She was educated at the Convent des Oiseaux, Verneuil-sur-Seine, France, and in England. On 6 January 1961, in the Catholic rite of matrimony, Princess Phương Liên married banker Bernard Maurice Soulain, in Chabrignac, Corrèze, France. Da Lat
Da Lat, or Dalat (; ), is the capital of Lâm Đồng Province and the largest city of the Central Highlands (Vietnam), Central Highlands region in Vietnam. The city is located above sea level on the Langbiang Plateau. Da Lat is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Vietnam. Khải Định
Khải Định (; chữ Hán: 啓定; born Nguyễn Phúc Bửu Đảo; 8 October 1885 – 6 November 1925) was the 12th emperor of the Nguyễn dynasty in Vietnam, reigning from 1916 to 1925. His name at birth was Prince Nguyễn Phúc Bửu Đảo. He was the son of Emperor Đồng Khánh, but he did not succeed him immediately. Biography Before Emperor Đồng Khánh's era came the eras of Emperor Thành Thái and Emperor Duy Tân, both of whom were exiled by the French for their resistance to the colonial regime. After this trouble, the French decided to enthrone Bửu Đảo as he was the son of the monarch who was the most submissive Nguyễn collaborator with the protectorate, standing with the French colonizers and opposing any independence movements, Emperor Đồng Khánh. House Of Nguyễn Phúc
The House of Nguyễn Phúc, also known as the House of Nguyễn Phước, is a family and a branch of the surname Nguyễn in Vietnam. Its members were the Nguyễn lords (1558–1777, 1780–1802) and emperors of the Nguyễn dynasty (1802–45). Its Bảo Đại was also emperor of the State of Vietnam (1949–55) and Domain of the Crown (1950–55). Nguyễn Bặc (924–79), an official of the Đinh dynasty, was its founder. Under Emperor Gia Long, the family's rule was not only restored, but extended to the whole of Vietnam in 1802, thus marking the start of the unified Nguyễn dynasty.
