VÃtor Hugo Gomes Passos (born 14 September 1987), known as Pelé, is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a central midfielder. Club career Early years Pelé started playing at the youth teams of Boavista FC, then switched to S.C. Salgueiros also in his hometown of Porto. The financial crisis of the latter eventually led to the administrative descent to the Segunda Liga; subsequently, the prohibition of signing professional players led to almost every player in the squad leaving. In the 2004–05 season, Salgueiros' senior squad was constituted primarily of 16 and 17-year-old youth players, including Pelé. Olivier Yohan Dacourt (born 25 September 1974) is a French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder . He is also a former French international and is best known for his spells at English side Leeds United and Italian clubs Roma and Inter Milan. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game.
