Vila Nova De Gaia
Vila Nova de Gaia (; ), or simply Gaia, is a city and a municipality in Porto District in Norte Region, Portugal, Norte Region, Portugal. It is located south of the city of Porto on the other side of the Douro River. The city proper had a population of 178,255 in 2001. The municipality has an area of and a population of 303,824 inhabitants in 2021, making it the most populous municipality in Norte Region, Portugal, Norte Region, and the third most populous in the country, after Lisbon and Sintra. Dom Luís I Bridge
The Dom Luís I Bridge (), or Luís I Bridge, is a double-deck metal arch bridge that spans the river Douro between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At its construction, its span was the longest of its type in the world. It can be confused with the nearby Maria Pia Bridge, a railway bridge that was built 9 years earlier (and is located to the east), which is similar in aspect to the Luís I bridge. Today, the bridge's upper level is used by pedestrians and by line D of the Porto Metro, whilst the lower level is used by buses, taxis, cyclists and pedestrians. The Porto Municipal Chamber () is the administrative authority in the municipality of Porto. It has 7 freguesias in its area of jurisdiction and is based in the city of Porto, on the Porto District. Rui Moreira (politician)
Rui de Carvalho de Araújo Moreira (born 8 August 1956) is a Portuguese businessman and politician, currently serving as Mayor of Porto since 2013. While officially an independent, he has been supported by the CDS – People's Party since 2013 and the Liberal Initiative since 2021. Biography Moreira was born in Porto. One of his great-grandfathers was Adolfo Höfle, a wealthy German migrant and employer of João Augusto Ferreira de Almeida, the last man executed by Portugal in 1917. Moreira graduated in Business from London's University of Greenwich, top of his 1978 class. A competitive sailor, he won youth and senior titles and represented Portugal in the sport. The Stock Exchange Palace () is a historical building in Porto, Portugal. The palace was built in the 19th century by the city's Commercial Association () in Neoclassical architecture, Neoclassical style. It is located in the Infante D. Henrique Square in the historical centre of Porto, designated World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Casa da Música is a concert hall in Porto, Portugal. It was designed by architect Rem Koolhaas and opened in 2005. Designed to mark the festive year of 2001 in which the city of Porto was designated European Capital of Culture, it was the first building in Portugal aimed from its conception to be exclusively dedicated to music, either in public performances or in the field of artistic training and creation. Our Lady Of Vendôme
Our Lady of Vendôme (), also known in Brazil as Our Lady of Porto or Our Lady of Porto of the Eternal Salvation, is a title of the Blessed Virgin Mary, of particular historical veneration in the city of Porto, Portugal, of which she is the patroness saint. As a sign of this devotion, Our Lady of Vendôme features in the coat of arms of Porto.
