Paweł Baraszkiewicz
Paweł Baraszkiewicz (born May 20, 1977, in Działdowo) is a Polish canoe racing, sprint canoeist who has competed since the mid-1990s. He has been ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, world champion four times in the sprint canoe, Canadian canoe C-2 event with partner Daniel Jędraszko. Baraszkiewicz debuted at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, where, paired with Marcin Kobierski, he was eliminated in the first semifinal of the C-2 500 m event. They also won a silver medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney in the C-2 500 m event. That same year Baraskiewicz also won two C-2 gold medals at the European championships (in the 500 m with Jedrasko and also in the 1000 m with Michał Gajownik). At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Baraszkiewicz and Jedrasko disappointingly failed to win a medal. Canoe Sprint European Championships
The Canoe Sprint European Championships (or European Canoe Sprint Championships) is an international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was first held in 1933 in Prague under the auspices of the International Canoe Federation. In 1997, the European Championships were resumed, and now take place annually. The most titled athlete of the European Championships is Hungarian Katalin Kovács, who has 29 gold medals, 17 silver medals and 2 bronze medals in her record. Sprint Canoe
A sprint canoe is a canoe used in International Canoe Federation canoe sprint. It is an open boat propelled by one, two or four paddlers from a kneeling position, using single-bladed paddles. The difficulty of balance can depend on how wide or narrow the canoe is, although regularly the less contact a canoe has with the water the faster it goes. This makes the narrower boats much faster and popular when it comes to racing. History Canoeing was a demonstration sport at the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. The ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships are an international event in canoe racing, one of two top-tier Summer Olympic sport events organized by the International Canoe Federation (the other being the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships). Działdowo
Działdowo (; , ) is a town in northern Poland with 20,935 inhabitants as of December 2021, the capital of Działdowo County.
