Pavelić (alternatively spelled Pavelic, Pavelich), is a Croatian family name. It is a patronymic surname based on the male given name Pavel, Pavle or Pavao, which is a local variant of Paul. Krešimir Pavelić (born July 19, 1952) is a Croatian scientist in the field of biomedical and healthcare, the field of fundamental medical sciences. He held the post of Secretary General of the European Organization for Molecular Biology (EMBO) and was the head of the National Cancer Research Program. Ante Pavelić (1869–1938)
Ante Pavelić (; 19 May 1869 – 11 February 1938) was a Croatian and Yugoslavia, Yugoslav dentist and politician. In Croatian sources, he is usually referred as (Senior) or (the Dentist) to be distinguished from the better known Independent State of Croatia fascist leader and politician Ante Pavelić, who was twenty years younger and member of a different Party of Rights. Ivan A. "Ivo" Pavelić (10 February 1908 – 22 February 2011) was a Croatian swimmer, football player and skier. As a swimmer he competed for Yugoslavia at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Bruno Pavelić
Brunislav "Bruno" Pavelić ( sr-cyr, Брунислав "Бруно" Павелић; 4 March 1937 – 28 September 2021), was a Serbian basketball player. Playing career Pavelić grew up playing basketball with KK Lokomotiva Zemun. Also, he occasionally played association football, football in FK Jedinstvo Zemun with Vladica Popović. Myfanwy Pavelic, DFA (April 27, 1916 – May 7, 2007) née Spencer, was a portrait artist. Early life and career Born in Victoria, British Columbia to an upper-class family, her first interests in fine art came after meeting with Emily Carr on Vancouver Island who later gave a brief series of instruction to Pavelic. Aside from a few months of study with a Yugoslav artist, she was self-taught as a painter. She studied at Miss Edgar's and Miss Cramp's School in Montreal, Canada as a boarder. During the Second World War, she held a solo exhibition of portraits in Canada and donated the proceeds to the Red Cross. She later married a diplomat and had one daughter who suffered a disability. Matt Pavelich (born March 12, 1934) is a Canadian retired former National Hockey League ice-hockey linesman, the first to ever be elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. After his career as an NHL linesman, Pavelich served as Supervisor of Officials as well as the Director of Player Discipline for the United Hockey League.
