Pavel Vojtíšek ATP and ITF websites list his name as Paul Vojtischek but English language newspaper articles from his playing days use Pavel Vojtisek. (born 13 June 1963) is a Czechoslovak-born West German retired professional tennis player. Vojtíšek, who got West German citizenship in his early 20s, is married to two-time Grand Slam finalist Renáta Tomanová. Career Vojtíšek was a semi-finalist at Athens in 1987 and also reached the quarter-finals in Bastad that season. West Germany was the common English name for the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) from its formation on 23 May 1949 until German reunification, its reunification with East Germany on 3 October 1990. ATP Athens
The ATP Athens Open is a defunct Grand Prix and ATP Tour affiliated tennis tournament held annually in Athens in Greece from 1986 to 1994, played on outdoor clay courts at Athens Lawn Tennis Club. In 2008 the tournament was renewed under the new name of the Status Athens Open on the ATP Challenger Series, awarding $75,000 in prize money. The historical precursor event to this one was the Athens International Championships founded as the Greek International Championships in 1931, that ran as a combined men's and women's event until 1973. The men's tournament was revived one more time in 1981 then it was discontinued. It was also played at the Athens Lawn Tennis Club. The Campionati Internazionali di Sicilia or International Championships of Sicily, also known as the Palermo Open, was a combined men's and women's clay court tennis tournament founded in 1935 and played annually at the Circolo Tennis Palermo in Palermo in Italy. In 1971 the women's event was discontinued leaving just the men's event that ran until 2006. History The International Championships of Sicily were established in 1935 as a combined tournament for men and women. In 1955 the Campionati Internazionali di Sicilia were disputed in Messina and won among the men Nicola Pietrangeli who beat in final Fausto Gardini in five sets, and in female tournament Silvana Lazzarino that won in final against Lea Pericoli. Sergi Bruguera
Sergi Bruguera i Torner (; born 16 January 1971) is a Spanish tennis coach and former professional player . He won consecutive men's singles titles at the French Open in 1993 and 1994, a silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in men's singles and reached a career-high ranking of No. 3 in August 1994. Bruguera is the only player to have a winning record against both Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. He won three of his five matches against Sampras: Bruguera leads 1–0 on hard court, 2–1 on clay, and Sampras leads 1–0 on carpet. In their only match, at the 2000 Barcelona Open, Bruguera lost only two games in defeating 18 year-old Federer. By number of games won, the match was Federer's worst loss in his entire career. Thomas Muster (born 2 October 1967) is an Austrian former professional tennis player. He was ranked as the List of ATP number 1 ranked singles tennis players, world No. 1 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). Muster won 44 ATP Tour-level singles titles, including the 1995 French Open – Men's singles, 1995 French Open and eight ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, Masters titles.
