Australian Open
The Australian Open (stylized ΛO) is a tennis tournament organised by Tennis Australia annually at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Victoria (state), Victoria, Australia. It is chronologically the first of the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tennis events every year, held before the French Open, Wimbledon Championships, Wimbledon and the US Open (tennis), US Open. The Australian Open typically starts around the middle of January and continues for two weeks, concluding with the men's final traditionally held on the last Sunday of the month. It features men's and women's singles, men's, women's and mixed doubles, juniors’ championships, wheelchair, legends, and exhibition events. Until 1987, it was played on grass courts, but since then three types of hardcourt surfaces have been used: green-coloured Rebound Ace up to 2007 and blue Plexicushion from 2008 to 2019. Henry Patten
Henry Patten (born 6 May 1996) is a British professional tennis player who specialises in doubles. He has been ranked by the ATP as high as world No. 3 in doubles, achieved on 27 January 2025. Patten is a two-time Grand Slam champion in doubles, having won the 2024 Wimbledon Championships and the 2025 Australian Open with Harri Heliövaara. He has won five career doubles titles on the ATP Tour and also 13 ATP Challenger titles, 11 with Julian Cash. Harry Hopman
Henry Christian Hopman Order of the British Empire, CBE (12 August 1906 – 27 December 1985) was an Australian tennis player and coach. Early life Harry Hopman was born on 12 August 1906 in Glebe, New South Wales, Glebe, Sydney as the third child of John Henry Hopman, a schoolteacher, and Jennie Siberteen, née Glad. His family then moved to Parramatta, New South Wales, Parramatta. John Peers
John William Peers (born 25 July 1988) is an Australian professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He reached a career-high ATP doubles ranking of world No. 2 on 3 April 2017, and a singles ranking of No. 456 in June 2012. He has won three Grand Slams, in doubles at the 2017 Australian Open with Henri Kontinen, and in mixed doubles at the 2022 US Open with fellow Australian Storm Sanders and the 2025 Australian Open with another compatriot Olivia Gadecki. Olivia Gadecki
Olivia Gadecki (; born 24 April 2002) is an Australian professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking by the WTA of No. 83, reached on 7 October 2024, and a best doubles ranking of world No. 64, achieved on 22 July 2024. Thelma Coyne Long
Thelma Dorothy Coyne Long (née Coyne; 14 October 1918 – 13 April 2015) was an Australian tennis player and one of the female players who dominated Australian tennis from the mid-1930s to the 1950s. During her career, she won 19 Grand Slam tournament titles. In 2013, Long was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Margaret Court (''née'' Smith; born 16 July 1942), also known as Margaret Smith Court, is an Australian former world number 1 tennis player and a Christian minister. Her 24 women's singles major titles and total of 64 major titles (including 19 major women's doubles and 21 major mixed doubles titles) are the most in tennis history.
