Pave Maijanen
Pekka Juhani "Pave" Maijanen (3 September 1950 – 16 January 2021) was a Finnish musician, who worked as a singer, songwriter, bass player, keyboard player, drummer, guitarist and producer during his long career. As well as his solo career, Maijanen was a member of The Royals, Rock'n'Roll Band, Pepe & Paradise and he was the keyboard player and producer of Dingo and the Hurriganes. Maijanen's first work as a producer was for the album ''Nuclear Nightclub'' by Wigwam. Career Pave Maijanen was born in Lappeenranta, and became interested in music at the age of 6, when he started playing the harmonica. In the 1960s, he was already playing in several bands, the most famous of which was ''Mielikummitus'', the background band of singer Kristian. Maijanen's music career continued as the bass player of the famous band Pepe & Paradise and as the vocalist of The Royals. Pepe Willberg
Pertti "Pepe" Willberg (formerly Toivo Pertti Uolevi Willberg, till 1955 Kaukonen; born on 17 December 1946) is a Finnish singer, songwriter and guitarist. Biography Willberg was born in Turku and started his musical career in the beginning of the 1960s, playing the rhythm guitar in a Lauttasaari (Helsinki) based band called the Islanders. Since then he has performed, for example as the lead singer for the bands Jormas and Pepe & Paradise. In addition to his solo career Willberg has also appeared with groups such as the Finntastic, Mestarit (Masters), and Poptenorit (Poptenors). His tenth solo album ''Pepe & Saimaa'' was nominated for IMPALA's European Independent Album of the Year Award. Tule Luo
Finland was represented by Katri Helena, with the song "Tule luo", at the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 15 May in Millstreet, Ireland. "Tule luo" was chosen as the Finnish entry at the national final on 6 March and was Katri Helena's second Eurovision appearance, 14 years after her performance in Jerusalem in 1979. Before Eurovision National final The final was held at the studios of broadcaster YLE in Helsinki, hosted by Ari Korvola. Four performers took part, each singing two songs, with the winner chosen by voting from eleven regional juries. At Eurovision On the night of the final Katri Helena performed 17th in the running order, following Slovenia and preceding Bosnia-Herzegovina. Katri Helena
Katri Helena Kalaoja (née Koistinen, born 17 August 1945) is a Finnish singer. Career Katri Helena released her first songs in 1963 and has since sold over 630,000 certified records, which makes her the second-best-selling female soloist in Finland behind Madonna and places her also among the top 20 best-selling music artists in the Finnish market. She has represented Finland twice in the Eurovision Song Contest: in 1979 with her song "Katson sineen taivaan" and in 1993 with "Tule luo". She also took part in the International Sopot Festival in 1969, singing "Valssi" during the Polish day. Personal life Katri Helena has been married three times. She had two daughters and a son with her husband Timo Kalaoja, who died of a heart attack in 1988. His death affected her so much that she withdrew from public view and stopped performing and recording for four years. Her only son, Juha Kalaoja, died at age 33 on 29 April 2009. Finland was represented by Kaija Kärkinen, with the song "Hullu yö", at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 4 May in Rome. "Hullu yö" was chosen as the Finnish entry at the national final organised by broadcaster Yle and held on 2 March.
