OFK Nikšić
OFK Nikšić is a Montenegrin football club based in Nikšić, founded in 2004. In the 2022–23 season, the club was competed in the Montenegrin Second League, where after the end of the autumn part of the season he voluntarily withdrew from the competition under suspicious circumstances, which was judged by the football public to be the result of corruption. The Prosecutor's Office of Montenegro and the Police Directorate did not conduct an investigation based on these accusations, and the Football Association punished club by being returned to the Third League and unable to promote to a higher level for two seasons. Nikšić (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Никшић, ), is the second largest city in Montenegro, with a total population of 32,046 (2023 census) located in the west of the country, in the centre of the spacious Nikšić field at the foot of Trebjesa Hill. Montenegrin Third League
The Montenegrin Third League ( Montenegrin: Treća crnogorska liga / Трећа црногорска лига) is the third and lowest-tier football league in Montenegro. It is headed by the regional unions of the Football Association of Montenegro (Union of the clubs - North, Union of the clubs - Center, Union of the clubs - South), under the Football Association of Montenegro. In the 2020–21 season, 30 teams participated, divided into three regions. The top team from each region qualifies for the playoff from which the top team qualify for the Second League of Montenegro. 2022–23 Montenegrin Second League
The 2022–23 Montenegrin Second League was the 17th season since the establishment of the Montenegrin Second League. The season ran from August 2022 to May 2023. That was the fifth season with 10 participating teams. Format of competition A total of 10 teams participated in this edition of the Second League. The new members are FK Podgorica, Podgorica and FK Zeta, Zeta, who were relegated from 2021–22 Montenegrin First League, and winners of Montenegrin Third League playoffs - OFK Nikšić, Nikšić and FK Otrant-Olympic, Otrant-Olympic. That was the fifth season of Second CFL with 10 participants. At the end of the season, the winner is automatically promoted to Montenegrin First League, while 2nd and 3rd placed teams play promotion play-offs, while 9th and 10th position lead to relegation to the Montenegrin Third League.
