2022–23 Montenegrin Second League
The 2022–23 Montenegrin Second League was the 17th season since the establishment of the Montenegrin Second League. The season ran from August 2022 to May 2023. That was the fifth season with 10 participating teams. Format of competition A total of 10 teams participated in this edition of the Second League. The new members are FK Podgorica, Podgorica and FK Zeta, Zeta, who were relegated from 2021–22 Montenegrin First League, and winners of Montenegrin Third League playoffs - OFK Nikšić, Nikšić and FK Otrant-Olympic, Otrant-Olympic. That was the fifth season of Second CFL with 10 participants. At the end of the season, the winner is automatically promoted to Montenegrin First League, while 2nd and 3rd placed teams play promotion play-offs, while 9th and 10th position lead to relegation to the Montenegrin Third League. Montenegrin Second League
The Montenegrin Second League (Montenegrin language, Montenegrin: ''Druga crnogorska fudbalska liga'' – ''Druga CFL'' – ''2. CFL'') is the second-top Association football, football league in Montenegro. It is headed by the Football Association of Montenegro. Second Montenegrin League consists of 10 participants. The top team qualifies for the First League of Montenegro, the second and third one contest in a playoff match against the 8th and 9th team from the First League, while the bottom-placed two teams are relegated to any of the three Montenegrin Third League, third-tier leagues, to be replaced by the two winners of a three-way promotion playoffs, contested by the winners of the three Third League divisions. FK Otrant
FK Otrant-Olympic ( Montenegrin: ''Fudbalski klub Otrant-Olympic'', Albanian: ''Klubi Futbollistik Otrant-Olympic'') is a Montenegrin football club based in the coastal town of Ulcinj. They compete in the Montenegrin First League. History FK Otrant-Olympic is the first football club in Ulcinj, it was founded in 1921, under the name Olcinium. From 1921 to 1941, the team played only non-official games.After World War II, i.e. during SFR Yugoslavia era, the club played under the name Bjelogorac. From the 1970s, they played in the Fourth League - South (lowest rank). In 1977–78, under the name Ulcinj, the club achieved its highest success to date, finishing as runner-up in the Fourth League. Nikšić
Nikšić (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Никшић, ), is the second largest city in Montenegro, with a total population of 32,046 (2023 census) located in the west of the country, in the centre of the spacious Nikšić field at the foot of Trebjesa Hill. DG Arena
DG Arena (previously: ''Stari Ribnjak Stadium'') is a football stadium in Donja Gorica suburb, Podgorica, Montenegro. It is situated on the Morača riverbank. It is used for football matches and is the home ground of FK Podgorica and OFK Mladost DG. History Stari Ribnjak Stadium was built in 1970, when the old club OFK Mladost Lješkopolje was founded. During 2015 started the project of stadium renovation and building sports' complex on the same place. The first stadium, with artificial turf, floodlights and capacity of 1,000 seats was opened on 21 May 2016. Two years after that, DG Arena was built. With 4,300 seats, facilities as additional ground and others, it meets the criteria for First League matches. The name of the stadium is an acronym - DG are the initials of the Donja Gorica suburb. Stadion Zlatica
Stadion Zlatica is a football stadium in Zlatica, a suburb of Podgorica Capital, Montenegro. It is used for football matches and is the home ground of FK Kom. History The current stadium in Zlatica was built in 2016. It is situated near the old field, which was demolished during 2015. The new football stadium in Zlatica has a capacity of 1,200 seats. With numerous facilities and another training pitch, the stadium meets the criteria for official games in every national competition. Old ground Previously, in period between 1958 and 2015, FK Kom played home games at an old field, near the new stadium. The old stadium had a capacity of 800 seats. Stadion Solila is a football stadium in Igalo, Herceg Novi municipality, Montenegro. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Igalo. The stadium holds 1,600 seats. History Until the middle of the 1990s, the football ground in Igalo was among amateur-pitches like neighbouring Stadion Opačica or Stadion Bijela. Igalo
Igalo (, ) is a small town in the Herceg Novi Municipality of Montenegro. It is accessible via the E65/ E80 north headed to Dubrovnik, Croatia. According to the 2011 Census, it has a population of 3,355. The town adjoins Herceg Novi and is administratively divided leaving no clear division between the towns. FK Igalo is a Montenegrin professional football club based in Igalo, Herceg Novi municipality. The club was founded in 1929 and currently competes in the Montenegrin Second League. History Founded as ''Primorje'' in 1929, FK Igalo is among the oldest football clubs at the territory of Herceg Novi municipality. Radanovići, Kotor
Radanovići ( Montenegrin Cyrillic: Радановићи) is a small town in the municipality of Kotor, Montenegro. Town is also part and largest settlement of historical rural region of Grbalj at the coastal region of Montenegro. Stadion Pod Vrmcem is a football stadium in Kotor, Montenegro. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Bokelj. The stadium holds 1,000 people. History The first football ground in Kotor was situated at Rakite suburb, near the Adriatic coast. At the same location, after 1945, a new ground was built. The stadium was renovated few times. It's situated near the beach in Bay of Kotor and it's the home ground of FK Bokelj. Except Bokelj's matches, at the Stadion pod Vrmcem, every year is playing final match of Nikša Bućin Cup, competition for Third League clubs from south Montenegro.
