Nowhatta, () known as Navyut () in Kashmiri language, Kashmiri, is a town of historical importance situated at a distance of 5 km from Lal Chowk, Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir (union territory), Jammu and Kashmir, India. Nowhatta is famous because of Historical Mosque known as Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, Jamia Masjid. Nowhatta area has eighteen sub-communities Mohalla. The place is also notable for high rate of stone pelting incidents in Kashmir. Each week after Friday prayers, people stage their protest against Indian rule which most of the times results in stone pelting incidents in the area. Jamia Masjid, Srinagar
Jamia Masjid is a mosque in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Situated at Nowhatta in the middle of the Old City, the Mosque was commissioned by Sultan Sikandar in 1394 CE and completed in 1402 CE, at the behest of Mir Mohammad Hamadani, son of Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadani, and is regarded as one of the most important mosques in Kashmir. The Mosque is located in Downtown which remains a central zone to the religio-political life in Srinagar. Thronged by Muslims every Friday, it is one of the prime tourist attractions of Srinagar. Architecture The Jamia Masjid is heavily influenced by Persian architecture, with similarities to the Buddhist pagodas. Ziyarat Naqshband Sahab
Ziyarat Naqshband Sahab (also known as Mausoleum Hazrat Khawaja Naqshbandh Sahib) is a Sunni Islam, Sunni Muslim shrine, or ziyarat, in Jammu and Kashmir (state), Jammu and Kashmir, in India. It is one of the traditional Mausoleums of the Hazrat Ishaans, who are descendants of Bahauddin Naqshband and Mughal dynasty, Mughal royals. Besides the Ziyarat Naqshband Sahab in Srinagar, Kashmir, the Hazrat Ishaans have a Ziyarat in Lahore in Begampura. History This shrine is named after the well known Bukhara mystic, Khawaja Baha-ud-Din Naqshband Bukhari, Syed Baha-ud-Din Naqshband Bukhari, the founder of a Sufism, Sufi order. Hazratbal
Hazratbal is the notified area situated in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about from Srinagar city center. The early settlements in the area occurred on the banks of Dal Lake and majority of population of area are Hangis (fishermen). The area became famous after the construction of Hazratbal Shrine where hundreds of thousands of people visit every year because many relics related to the Islamic prophet Muhammad are believed to be there. Hari Parbat
Hari Parbat (), also called Koh-i-Maran (), is a hill overlooking Srinagar, the largest city and the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is the site of a fort, built by the Durrani Empire, and of a Hindu temple, mosques, and gurdwara. The Indian government on 15 August 2021 (the 75th independence day) hoisted a 100 feet tall Indian flag on the top of the fort. Durrani Fort The first fortifications on the site were constructed by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1590 who built an outer wall for the fort as part of his plans for a new capital at the site of modern-day Srinagar city in Kashmir.
