Hazratbal
Hazratbal is the notified area situated in Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is about from Srinagar city center. The early settlements in the area occurred on the banks of Dal Lake and majority of population of area are Hangis (fishermen). The area became famous after the construction of Hazratbal Shrine where hundreds of thousands of people visit every year because many relics related to the Islamic prophet Muhammad are believed to be there. The word ''Hazrat'' in Urdu gives indication of ''respect'' and ''bal'' in Kasmiri means ''place''. Thus the word ''Hazratbal'' means the place which is highly respected among the people. Due to the presence of Dal Lake and its house boats in vicinity, the area became the famous tourist spot in the city. The economy of the people living here greatly depends on tourism. Hazratbal Shrine
The Hazratbal Shrine ( ks, ), popularly called Dargah Sharif ("the Holy Shrine"), is a Muslim shrine located in Hazratbal locality of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. It contains a relic, ''Moi-e-Muqqadas'', which is widely believed to be the hair of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. It is situated on the northern bank of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, and is considered to be Kashmir's holiest Muslim shrine. The name of the shrine is a combination of the Arabic word ''hazrat'' () and the Kashmiri word ''bal'' (). History and present status Hazratbal Shrine was initially established by Inayat Begum, the daughter of Khwaja Nur-ud-Din Eshai and the custodian of the holy relic. Dal Lake
Dal is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an urban lake, the second largest lake in Jammu and Kashmir, and the most visited place in Srinagar by tourists and locals. It is integral to tourism and recreation in the Kashmir valley and is variously known as the "Lake of Flowers", "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel". National Institute of Technology Srinagar (NIT Srinagar or NITSRI) is a public technical university located in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Lal Chowk
Lal Chowk () is a city square in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The square was given its name by left-wing activists who were inspired by the Russian Revolution as they fought the princely state's Maharaja, Hari Singh. It has traditionally served as a place for political meetings, with Jawaharlal Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah (the first prime ministers of India and Jammu and Kashmir, respectively) as well as other prominent political leaders having addressed people from it. Naseem Bagh
Naseem Bagh is a Mughal garden built on the northwestern side of the Dal Lake, close to the city of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The garden is one of the oldest Mughal gardens in Kashmir, built by Mughal emperor Akbar in 1586. Over 1200 chinar trees were planted in 1686 by Shah Jahan. It is developed as Chinar Heritage Park by the University of Kashmir. At present the park houses around 700 chinar trees. It is mostly visited in the autumn from September to December. Nowhatta, () known as Navyut () in Kashmiri, is a town of historical importance situated at a distance of 5 km from Lal Chowk, Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, India. 90 Feet Road
90 Feet Road is the southern segment of the Srinagar-Leh Highway ( National Highway 1D), which connects Srinagar with Ladakh. The 90 Feet Road begins in Soura, Srinagar, about 11.1 km north of the commercial centre of Lal Chowk. It extends north for and ends at Pandach, Ganderbal. Thereafter, NH 1D turns eastward toward Leh. Its name reflects the fact that it is wide throughout. Locals call it Nammath, which is "ninety" in the Kashmiri language. Buchpora
Buchpora is a town on the outskirts of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is situated on Srinagar-Leh Highway on the eastern side of Anchar Lake. The postal code of the area is 190020. The area is about north from Lal Chowk. Most of the current inhabitants of the area are migrants from Downtown Srinagar.
