Commune-level town (), a type of third tier subdivision of Vietnam is divided into 11,162 units along with Ward (Vietnam), ward and Commune (Vietnam), commune have equal status. An Giang is a Provinces of Vietnam, province of Vietnam. It is located in the Mekong Delta, in the country's southwestern part. Geography An Giang is located in the upper reaches of the Mekong Delta. The Bassac River, Hậu Giang and Tiền River, Tiền Giang branches of the Mekong River are the province's dominant geographical features. Thoại Sơn is a rural district (''huyện'') of An Giang province in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam. In 2019 the district had a population of 163,427. The district covers an area of 456 km². Tropical savanna climate or tropical wet and dry climate is a tropical climate sub-type that corresponds to the Köppen climate classification categories ''Aw'' (for a dry "winter") and ''As'' (for a dry "summer").
