Nuestra Señora Del Carmen, Aguada, Montevideo
The Church of Our Lady of the Mount Carmel (), popularly known as Iglesia de la Aguada, is a Roman Catholic parish church in Montevideo, Uruguay. History Originally there was a small church where, in 1829, the Constitution of Uruguay of 1830, First Constituent Assembly was summoned. The current temple it was created in 1861 and built in 1890 , in a neoclassical style with two bell towers on its main façade. It was declared a parish on September 8, 1866 by the bishop of Montevideo Jacinto Vera . The church is dedicated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a very popular devotion of the Virgin Mary. In the 1930s, as a result of the construction of the Libertador Avenue, Diagonal Agraciada, its neoclassical façade had to be demolished and rebuilt in 1935 by the architects Elzeario Boix y Horacio Terra. Melo, Uruguay
Melo () is the capital city of the Cerro Largo Department of north-eastern Uruguay. As of the census of 2023, it is the ninth most populated city of the country with a population of 56,013. Geography Location It is located at the center of the department, on the intersection of Route 7 with Route 8, south of Aceguá and the border with Brazil. Villa Del Carmen
Villa del Carmen or Carmen is a town in Durazno Department of central Uruguay, the third largest populated place in the department, after Durazno and Sarandí del Yí. Geography The town is located on the intersection of Routes 14 and 42, about east of the city of Durazno. History Carmen was founded on 10 June 1874 by a decree of President of Uruguay, José Eugenio Ellauri. A principal contribution to the town's economic development was the carpentery industry, as well as the wines produced by André Faraud in the beginning of the 20th century. On 4 July 1908, its status was elevated to "Pueblo" (village) and was given the name "Pueblo del Carmen" by the Act of Ley Nº 3.305. Durazno is the capital city of the Durazno Department, department of Durazno in Uruguay. Toledo, Uruguay
Toledo is a small city in the Canelones Department of Uruguay. Together with Villa Crespo y San Andrés and several other urban centres, it forms a municipality of more than 14,000, which is also generally known as Toledo, although the censual area of Toledo itself has only about 4,400 inhabitants, according to the 2011 census.
