North Maleny is a rural locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , North Maleny had a population of 710 people. Geography The Baroon Pocket Dam is in the north-east of the locality; it impounds Obi Obi Creek creating Lake Baroon. Part of Kondalilla National Park is in the north-west of the locality. History The Maleny Provisional School opened on 22 July 1897, becoming Maleny State School on 1 January 1909. It was renamed Maleny North State School in 1913 (probably because of the opening on Maleny Township State School in nearby Maleny) but closed in 1914. On 27 February 1922, it reopened as Maleny North Provisional School, becoming Maleny North State School on 4 July 1927. It finally closed in 1953. Seqwater is a statutory authority of the Government of Queensland that provides bulk water storage, transport and water treatment, treatment, water grid management and planning, catchment management and flood mitigation services to the South East Queensland region of Australia. Mike Ahern (Australian Politician)
Michael John Ahern (2 June 1942 – 11 August 2023) was an Australian National Party politician who was Premier of Queensland from December 1987 to September 1989. After a long career in the government of Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, Ahern became his successor amid the controversy caused by the Fitzgerald Inquiry into official corruption. Ahern's consensus style and political moderation contrasted strongly with Bjelke-Petersen's leadership, but he could not escape the division and strife caused by his predecessor's downfall. Baroon is a village in the Lower Dir District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The village is home to three main tribes of Pakhtoons: Shinwari, Pakhtoons, and Afridi (in very small numbers). It is about 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) from the district headquarter Timergara. The population of Baroon is approximately 11,000. There are four government schools and one private school for children. Additionally, the village has two Islamic education madrasas. Baroon village is situated south of the Panjkora River, and the Koto hydro power project dam, a popular picnic spot, is also located in Baroon. The village features one water canal and four hill streams. Baroon is one of the historical villages in Dir's history. Kondalilla National Park
Kondalilla is a national park in the Blackall Range of South East Queensland, Australia, 91 km north of Brisbane. William Skene founded this area on his property while searching for lost cattle. He named it Bon Accord before giving it to the Queensland Government who, during the fifties, renamed it Kondalilla which is an Aboriginal word for running water. The area was first officially protected in 1906 as a recreational area, becoming a national park in 1945. Access is easiest by road from Flaxton, east of the park. There is a large picnic area where there are toilet facilities (non potable water). There are two tracks which lead to the upper falls swimming hole. A longer circuit track will take you to the bottom pool which is not suitable for swimming.
