Nippon Animation
is a Japanese animation studio. The company is headquartered in Tokyo, with chief offices in the Ginza district of Chūō and production facilities in Tama City. Nippon Animation is known for producing numerous anime series based on works of Western literature such as '' Anne of Green Gables'' and '' The Adventures of Tom Sawyer''. Heidi, Girl Of The Alps
is an anime television series produced by Zuiyo Eizo and is based on the novel ''Heidi's Years of Wandering and Learning'' by Johanna Spyri (1880). It was directed by Isao Takahata and features contributions by numerous other anime filmmakers, including Yoichi Kotabe (character design, animation director), Toyoo Ashida (co-character design, animation director), Yoshiyuki Tomino (storyboard, screenplay), and Hayao Miyazaki (scene design, layout, screenplay). ''Heidi'' is the 6th and final entry in ''Calpis Comic Theater'', a precursor of the World Masterpiece Theater series, based on classic tales from the Western world. Momoko Sakura
(8 May 1965 – 15 August 2018) was the pen name of a Japanese manga artist from Shimizu, Shizuoka Prefecture. She was best known as the creator of the long-running manga ''Chibi Maruko-chan''. Biography Miki Miura, was born 8 May 1965. She revealed very little about her private life, including her real name. Sakura made her debut as an artist in 1984 and the ''Chibi Maruko-chan'' was published in '' Ribon'' from 1986 to 1996. The series, which was based on her own childhood, was set in 1974 in suburban Japan. An anime series based on the ''Chibi Maruko-chan'' aired from 1990 to 1992 while the current second series, which debuted in 1995, continues to this day. Sakura also made the more surreal fantasy series ''Coji-Coji'', which ran from 1997 to 1999. Chibi Maruko-chan
is a shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Momoko Sakura. The series depicts the simple, everyday life of Momoko Sakura, a young girl everyone calls ''Maruko'', and her family in suburban Japan in the year 1974. Maruko is a troublemaker, and every episode recounts Maruko's trouble and how she and her friends succeed in solving the situation. The series is set in the former of Irie District (入江町), Shimizu, now part of Shizuoka City, birthplace of its author. The first story under the title "Chibi Maruko-chan" was published in the August 1986 edition of the shōjo manga magazine '' Ribon''. Other semi-autobiographical stories by the author had appeared in ''Ribon'' and '' Ribon Original'' in 1984 and 1985, and were included in the first "Chibi Maruko-chan" tankōbon in 1987. is a Japanese animated television series and the fifth entry in Nippon Animation's '' World Masterpiece Theater'' (which has been known by several different names). It was adapted from the 1908 novel ''Anne of Green Gables'' by Lucy Maud Montgomery. is a 1975 Japanese anime television series adaptation of Ouida's 1872 novel of the same name, produced by Nippon Animation. 52 episodes were produced. A film version was released in 1997. The series represents the bond between a boy and his ever so faithful dog living in 19th century Flanders Hoboken. The emotional story shows the boy's struggles in life as his grandfather dies and leaves him with his dog. It shows how the hopes of becoming a great classical painter have been seemingly crushed by his grandfather's passing and the way he takes after that tragedy. The anime series is notable for being the first official entry in the World Masterpiece Theater series (''Calpis Children's Theater'' at the time). is an anime television series produced first by Zuiyo Enterprise and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation of Osaka. After the first 6 episodes, Zuiyo Enterprise would split into Zuiyo Company and Nippon Animation, which retained the rights of the series. The series consisted of 52 episodes and was originally telecast from April 1975 to April 1976 on the NET (now TV Asahi) network, with which ABC (not to be confused with the Tokyo-based TV Asahi) is affiliated. Based on the classic children's book ''The Adventures of Maya the Bee'' by Waldemar Bonsels, the anime series has become extremely popular in Europe and has been rebroadcast in countries and languages all around the world since its premiere.
