Zuiyo
is a Japanese animation company founded in 1988 and headquartered in Kamakura. The studio is a successor to the original Zuiyo Enterprise company that existed from 1969 to 1975 when it was reorganized into Nippon Animation with the current entity establishing in 1988 to split the original Zuiyo Enterprise into two. Heidi, Girl Of The Alps
is an animated television series produced by Zuiyo Eizo and the series itself based on the novel '' Heidi's Years of Wandering and Learning'' by Johanna Spyri (1880). It was directed by Isao Takahata and features contributions by numerous other anime filmmakers, including Yoichi Kotabe (character design, animation director), Toyoo Ashida (co-character design, animation director), Yoshiyuki Tomino (storyboard, screenplay), and Hayao Miyazaki (scene design, layout, screenplay). Moomin (1969 TV Series)
is a Japanese anime television series produced by Zuiyo Enterprise and animated by Tokyo Movie until episode 26 and by Mushi Production after episode 27. The series is loosely based on the Moomin books by the Finnish author Tove Jansson and was broadcast on Fuji Television from 1969 to 1970. A sequel series entitled '' Shin Muumin'' () was later released in 1972. Jansson never approved of the series or its successor, due to their dramatic changes with the plots, overall atmosphere, and character personalities. Because of this, the series was never translated into any languages or released outside Japan except Taiwan and some others like United Kingdom. Also, the series has never been released in principle since 1990 including in Japan, when a new anime television series '' Moomin'' was released with the full involvement of Jansson herself. World Masterpiece Theater
is a Japanese TV animated series that showcased an animated version of a different classical book or story each year from 19:30 to 20:00 on Sunday on Fuji TV. It aired from 1969 to 1997 and from 2007 to 2009. It is commonly abbreviated to . ''Vicky the Viking'', known as ''Wickie und die starken Männer'' () in Germany and Austria and in Japan, is an animated television series which tells the adventures of Vicky, a young Viking boy who uses his wits to help his Viking fellows. It is based on the novel '' Vicke Viking'' (1963) written by the Swedish author Runer Jonsson. It premiered on the German TV channel ZDF on 31 January 1974 and aired in various countries. is a 1975 Japanese anime television series adaptation of Ouida's 1872 novel of the same name, produced by Nippon Animation. 52 episodes were produced. A film version was released in 1997. The series represents the bond between a boy and his ever so faithful dog living in a 19th century Flanders village near Antwerp. The emotional story shows the boy's struggles in life, and his hopes of becoming a great classical painter. The anime series is notable for being the first official entry in the ''World Masterpiece Theater'' series (''Calpis Children's Theater'' at the time). Production The animators conducted extensive research on 19th century Flanders, although it has to be said that a lot of features in the series are not Flemish but typically Dutch (the girl's hat and the tulips for example). is a Japanese anime studio in Arakawa, Tokyo, Japan. The company was formerly known as Television Corporation of Japan Co., Ltd. or TCJ before the sales division spun off to form Zuiyo Eizo. As a result, it changed its name in 1969 to Eiken. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Asatsu-DK. History The studio was established as in 1952. It started off producing commercials before entering the anime industry with adaptations of Ko Kojima's Sennin Buraku and Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Tetsujin 28-go. Isao Takahata
was a Japanese director, screenwriter and producer. A co-founder of Studio Ghibli, he earned international critical acclaim for his work as a director of Japanese animated feature films. Born in Ujiyamada, Mie Prefecture, Takahata joined Toei Animation after graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1959.
