Neftçi PFK
Neftçi Peşəkar Futbol Klubu, known simply as Neftçi () or Neftchi Baku, is an Azerbaijani professional association football, football club based in the capital Baku, that plays in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the highest tier of Football in Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan football. The club was founded on 18 March 1937 and played under the name of Neftyanik until 1968. Since then, the club has been competing under the name of Neftçi. Neftçi played for a total of 27 seasons in the Soviet Top League, Top Division of Soviet football. The main achievement of that period is the bronze medals of the USSR Championship won in 1966 Soviet Top League, 1966. Neftçi has won nine Azerbaijan Premier League titles, six Azerbaijan Cups and two Azerbaijan Supercup titles. Neftçi Arena
Neftçi Arena is a stadium, soccer-specific stadium located in 8th Kilometer, Baku, Azerbaijan. It was opened in 2012 and has a capacity of 10,289 spectators. In 2013 it was renamed to Bakcell Arena. The name of the stadium was changed to Neftçi Arena in August 2023. Neftçi Arena is serving as the home ground of the Azerbaijan Premier League club Neftçi PFK, Neftçi. Stroitel Baku () (formerly named Temp Baku) was a Soviet association football club from Baku, Azerbaijan SSR. They played in the Soviet Top League for only one season, 1938, before relegation to the Soviet First League. They dissolved two years later at the end of the 1940 season. Anatoliy Andreyevich Banishevskiy (; ; 23 February 1946, in Baku – 10 December 1997, in Baku) was an Azerbaijani footballer who played as a forward. Throughout most of his playing and coaching career, Banishevskiy was committed to his originally domestic club, Neftçi. He is widely considered the greatest Azerbaijani footballer of all time. He played for the Soviet Union national football team, winning 51 caps and scoring 20 goals. Banishevskiy played for the Soviet side in the 1966 FIFA World Cup, as well as in European Championship 1968 and 1972. His club team was Neftçi, and he scored 136 goals in Soviet Top League competition. The striker was unofficially named Azerbaijan's Player of the Year three times-in 1966, 1967, and 1978. FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The 1937 Soviet football championship was the 7th seasons of competitive football in the Soviet Union. FC Dynamo Moscow won the championship becoming the winner of Group A for the second time. CDKA Moscow once again avoided relegation since the format for the next 1938 season changed again. The defending champions Spartak, while defeating their main rivals Dinamo (2–1, 0–0) this season, had a poor start in the first half losing to Metallurg and Dinamo Kiev and let Dinamo Moscow outperform them.
