Machakos County
Machakos County is one of the 47 counties of Kenya, which came into being because of the devolved system of governance occasioned by the 2010 constitution of Kenya. The country's first administrative headquarters are in Machakos Town, which is the largest town in the county. The county had a population of 1,421,932 as of 2019. The county borders Nairobi and Kiambu counties to the west, Embu to the north, Kitui to the east, Makueni to the south, Kajiado to the south west, and Muranga and Kirinyaga to the north west. Government The Machakos County Government is composed of two arms, the County Executive and the County Assembly. County Executive is headed by a Governor. It was established in 2001 to cater for the bright students from Kivandini (Kipandini) Division and its environs, whose parents could not afford the fees charged in boarding school. Its first Principal was Mwikya P (2nd was/is Kituu P.) He was instrumental in acquiring more land for the school as the one donated by Kitulu Primary School was very small. The school has been performing relatively well in the district having attained position 1 on several occasions.(District schools). Alfred Mutua
Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua (born 22 August 1970) is a Kenyan journalist and politician who has been serving as Cabinet Secretary of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs under President William Ruto since 27 October 2022. Prior to joining the government, Mutua served as the 1st Governor of Machakos County for two terms, from 2013 to 2017 and from 2018 to 2022. He was the Kenyan government's spokesman before resigning in 2012 to run for the Machakos County Gubernatorial race. He is the founder of the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) Party which was established on 25 August 2016. Early life and education Mutua was born in Masii, Machakos County. Kirinyaga County
Kirinyaga County is a county in the former Central Province of Kenya. Its capital is Kerugoya and its largest town is Wanguru. Muranga County
Murang'a County is one of the counties of Kenya's former Central Province. Its largest town and capital is Murang'a, formerly referred to as Fort Hall during the colonial era. Makueni County (formerly Makueni District) is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Wote. The county has a population of 987,653 (2019 census). The county lies between Latitude 1° 35' and 2° 59' South and Longitude 37° 10' and 38° 30' East.
