The Ángel María de Rosa Municipal Museum of Art (MUMA) is an art museum in Junín, Buenos Aires, Junín, a city in the north of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Overview The original Municipal Museum of Fine Arts resulted from a 1943 gift to the city by a prominent local sculptor, Ángel María de Rosa, of the bulk of his own works, as well as of the variety of art he had collected in Europe, over the course of numerous travels. The museum was officially commissioned on April 3, 1944, though it lacked its own facilities. Initially maintained by de Rosa and a fellow sculptor, Juan Donato Comuni, the museum relocated to a series of temporary locations. Comuni, however, died in 1962, and de Rosa, in 1970. The municipality ultimately granted the museum the former central market building as its permanent home, in 1978. The Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), formerly the Monash University Gallery, is a contemporary art museum on Monash University's Caulfield campus on Dandenong Road, Melbourne, Australia. History The Museum grew out of a number of earlier initiatives at Monash University, starting in 1961 when the inaugural Vice Chancellor Louis Matheson created a fund for the purchase of artworks by then living Australian artists. The establishment of the museum reflected a desire by the university's founders to create the modern Australian university, and to enrich the cultural life of students, staff and visitors. In the late 1960s John Waterhouse and Patrick McCaughey (then a teaching fellow at Monash and art critic at ''The Age'') were appointed as curators, and in 1975, McCaughey created the Monash University Gallery on the seventh floor of the Menzies Building of the main campus and set up an artist-in-residence program. Museum Maluku, also known by the abbreviation MuMa, is a museum dedicated to the Maluku Islands and Moluccan people living in the Netherlands. Museum Maluku was located in the city of Utrecht until October 2012, when it closed its doors due to inadequate financial means. Its Moluccan heritage collection was preserved and managed by the Moluccan Historical Museum Foundation, allowing it to remain accessible in various ways.
