Minuteman Library Network
Founded first as a cooperative, the Minuteman Library Network (MLN) is today a Library consortium, consortium of over 40+ public or academic library, academic libraries. The network consists of an aggregate collection of over sum 6 million items and over 680,000 cardholders. Membership card eligibility is open to persons who: live, work, or study in Massachusetts; and can be used to borrow items from its Minuteman libraries. The network operates through the pooling and sharing of resources, and through this offers patrons more services along with access to a more expansive catalog. For example, the network has a OverDrive, Inc., OverDrive E-book collection and allows users to sign-in with their library card and borrow E-books and audio books from other consortium library networks in Massachusetts. Medfield is a town in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 12,799 according to the 2020 United States Census. The Dedham Public Library is a public library system in Massachusetts established in 1872. It is part of the Minuteman Library Network. History Social library In 1794, just four years after the first circulating library was established in Massachusetts, the First Church and Parish in Dedham organized a social library. The minister, Jason Haven, kept the books in his house and they were only circulated on Mondays. The books were eventually moved to the vestry of the church, and circulation was moved to Sundays. Concord Free Public Library
The Concord Free Public Library is a public library in the town of Concord, Massachusetts. The main building is located at 129 Main Street, and the Fowler branch is located at 1322 Main Street in West Concord. History The Concord Free Public Library was founded by Concord native William Munroe, son of the famed pencil-maker. Munroe worked with other prominent members of Concord to form a board of trustees that would provide financial backing for the library.
