Maïté Boucly
Marie-Thérèse Ordonez (; 2 June 1938 – 21 December 2024), known as Maïté, was a French restaurateur, actress and television presenter. She is mostly famous for hosting long-running cookery shows on French television, including ''La Cuisine des Mousquetaires'' with Micheline Banzet-Lawton, from 1983 to 1997, and ''À table'', from 1997 to 1999. Career At the beginning of her career, Maïté worked as an announcer for the SNCF, France's national railway company: she was in charge of alerting railway workers with a trumpet before a train arrived, so that they could let it pass. In 1983, Maïté was spotted by director Patrice Bellot during a news report about the Rion-des-Landes rugby team: she was the owner of a nearby restaurant where the players would go after the games. A celebrity chef is a kitchen chef who has become a celebrity. A restaurateur is a person who opens and runs restaurants professionally. Although over time the term has come to describe any person who owns a restaurant, traditionally it refers to a highly skilled professional who is proficient in all aspects of the restaurant business. Etymology The French word comes from the Late Latin term ("restorer") and from the Latin term ''restaurare''. The word ''restaurateur'' is simply French for a person who owns or runs a restaurant. The feminine form of the French noun is ''restauratrice''. A less common variant spelling ''restauranteur'' is formed from the "more familiar" term ''restaurant'' with the French suffix ''-eur'' borrowed from ''restaurateur''. RTL is a French commercial radio network owned by the RTL Group through Groupe M6. Founded in 1933 as Radio Luxembourg, it broadcast from outside of France until 1981 because only public stations had been allowed until then. It is a general-interest, news, talk and music station, broadcasting nationally (" category E" as classified by the CSA) in France, Francophone Belgium, and Luxembourg.
