Max Domarus
Maximilian Bernhard Domarus (1911–1992) was a German writer, historian, researcher, archivist, translator, and publicist. Domarus is best known for his historical work on the Third Reich and the speeches of Adolf Hitler. Domarus was the author and editor of the 3,330-page four-volume set entitled '' Hitler: Speeches and Proclamations 1932–1945: The Chronicle of a Dictatorship''. Domarus' work is generally considered the most essential and reliable resource on the speeches of Hitler and a unique chronicle of the Third Reich. Nazi Germany, officially known as the German Reich and later the Greater German Reich, was the German state between 1933 and 1945, when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party controlled the country, transforming it into a totalitarian dictatorship. Konrad Kujau
Konrad Paul Kujau (27 June 1938 – 12 September 2000) was a German illustrator and forger. He became famous in 1983 as the creator of the so-called Hitler Diaries, for which he received DM 2.5 million (€2,421,020 in 2020 terms, adjusted for inflation) from a journalist, Gerd Heidemann, who in turn sold it for DM 9.3 million to the magazine ''Stern,'' resulting in a net profit of DM 6.8 million (€6,585,174 in 2020 terms, adjusted for inflation) for Heidemann. The forgery resulted in a four-and-half-year prison sentence for Kujau. Hitler Diaries
The Hitler Diaries () were a series of sixty volumes of journals purportedly written by Adolf Hitler, but forged by Konrad Kujau between 1981 and 1983. The diaries were purchased in 1983 for 9.3 million Deutsche Marks (£2.3 million or $3.7 million) by the West German news magazine ''Stern'', which sold serialisation rights to several news organisations. One of the publications involved was ''The Sunday Times'', who asked their independent director, the historian Hugh Trevor-Roper, to authenticate the diaries; he did so, pronouncing them genuine. At the press conference to announce the publication, Trevor-Roper announced that on reflection he had changed his mind, and other historians also raised questions concerning their validity. List Of Adolf Hitler Speeches
From his first speech in 1919 in Munich until the last speech in February 1945, Adolf Hitler, dictator of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945, gave a total of 1525 speeches. In 1932, for the 1932 German presidential election, presidential campaign and two federal elections that year, he gave the most speeches (totalling 241). Not all have been listed, as it is not practical to do so. Because the Reichstag building was destroyed by a Reichstag fire, fire on 27 February 1933, all of Hitler’s addresses to the Reichstag (Nazi Germany), Reichstag were held at the neighbouring Kroll Opera House.
