Maurice Déribéré
Maurice Déribéré (born July 7, 1907 - died June 10, 1997) was a French chemical engineer, a specialist in color, and a prolific author on various subjects. Education and career Maurice Déribéré, the son of a railway worker, pursued his studies at Lycée Lakanal and then at ESIEE Paris (currently ESIEE Paris). He graduated as an EBP engineer in 1928. In 1932, he became the production manager at Établissements Keller et Leleux, and in 1935, he became the editor-in-chief at ''Textiles et Techniques'' publications. The following year, he managed an electrochemistry company. In 1939, he was promoted to head of a research laboratory, and in 1954, he became the head of the illumination center for la Compagnie des Lampes Mazda, a position he held until 1972. In parallel, he worked as a film still photographer for Sacha Guitry's film ''Napoleon'' in 1955. Lycée Lakanal
Lycée Lakanal is a public secondary school in Sceaux, Hauts-de-Seine, France, in the Paris metropolitan area. It was named after Joseph Lakanal, a French politician, and an original member of the Institut de France. The school also offers a middle school and highly ranked " classes préparatoires" undergraduate training. Famous French scientists and writers have graduated from lycée Lakanal, such as Jean Giraudoux, Alain-Fournier and Frédéric Joliot-Curie. A suite, in Western classical music, is an ordered set of instrumental or orchestral/concert band pieces. It originated in the late 14th century as a pairing of dance tunes; and grew in scope so that by the early 17th century it comprised up to five dances, sometimes with a prelude. "Que sais-je?" (QSJ) (; Literally: "What do I know?", ) is an editorial collection published by the Presses universitaires de France (PUF). The aim of the series is to provide the lay reader with an accessible introduction to a field of study written by an expert in the field. As such, they are a good example of ''haute vulgarization'' (high popularization). The phrase "Que sais-je?" is taken from the works of French essayist Michel de Montaigne and means "What do I know?" Started in 1941 by Paul Angoulvent (1899–1976), founder of the Presses Universitaires de France, the series now numbers over 3,900 titles by more than 2,500 authors, and various volumes, taken all together, have been translated into more than 43 languages. Some titles have sold more than 300,000 copies (namely by Piaget). Each year, 50 to 60 new titles are added to the collection, which comprises ten different series.
