María Antonia Morales (1 September 1931 – 25 December 2024) was a Chilean judge. Cañete, Chile
Cañete is a city and commune in Chile, located in the Arauco Province of the Biobío Region. It is located 135 km to the south of Concepción. Cañete is known as a "Historic City" (Spanish: ''ciudad histórica'') as it is one of the oldest cities in the country. The Battle of Tucapel and Pedro de Valdivia's death happened near the city's current location. Cañete was also an important location in the Arauco War. History Etymology Cañete was founded under the name of "Cañete de la Frontera" in 1558. The city was established by Governor García Hurtado de Mendoza and named in honor of his father, Andrés Hurtado de Mendoza, 3rd Marquis of Cañete. The marquis' title originated from the Castile town Cañete. Fort Tucapel The area was known as Tucapel, meaning ''taking by force'' in Mapudungun. The Presidential Republic () is the period in the history of Chile spanning from the approval of the 1925 Constitution on 18 September 1925, under the government of Arturo Alessandri Palma, to the overthrow of the Popular Unity government headed by the President Salvador Allende on 11 September 1973. The period is concurrent with the "Inward Development" (''Desarrollo hacia adentro'') period in Chilean economic history. Carlos Ibáñez and Arturo Alessandri Palma Headed by Colonel Marmaduque Grove, left-wing troops deposed the September Junta in the 1925 coup, and handed power to General Pedro Dartnell as interim president, with the hope of recalling Arturo Alessandri Palma from exile. Radio Bío-Bío is a Chilean radio station with broad coverage in Chile. It covers news, sports, music, economics, and international relations. The station was founded in 1966 in Concepción. An independent politician or non-affiliated politician is a politician not affiliated with any political party or Bureaucracy, bureaucratic association.
