Area code 651 is the telephone numbering plan code for Saint Paul, Minnesota, and the eastern suburbs of the Twin Cities. A dogleg portion also extends to the southeast along the Mississippi River to include cities such as Hastings. Hugo is a city north of downtown Saint Paul in Washington County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 14,767 at the 2020 census. The city lies north of White Bear Lake on the border of the metropolitan boundary. Scandia is a city in Washington County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,984 at the 2020 census. Scandia is 25 miles northeast of Saint Paul, Minnesota, and is part of the Twin Cities Metro Area. History As evidenced by the town's name, Scandia has a rich Scandinavian heritage. It is the site of what is believed to have been Minnesota's first Swedish immigrant settlement. In 1850, the first log cabin was built on the shores of Hay Lake. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. May Township is a township in Washington County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 2,928 at the 2000 census. May Township was organized in 1893, and named for Morgan May, an English settler. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has an area of 37.6 square miles (97.4 km2), of which 35.3 square miles (91.4 km2) is land and 2.3 square miles (6.0 km2) (6.14%) is water. Minnesota State Highway 95 serves as a main route in the township. The unincorporated communities of Arcola and Maple Island are both in May Township.
